Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: T-Rex

"How kind of you to drive us." Liam sarcastically said to his sister right after he closed the trunk of her sedan.

"Awe, thank you, you ungrateful little shit." Meg replied back with a smile. "Now get in."

Inside the back passenger seat, Mar was already seated and his head was leaned on the window, already snoozing away. The taller alpha smiled at the sight of his best friend, and he carefully got in so he wouldn't wake him up. Meg began accelerating down the road, and Liam looked at Mar one last time before he decided to just put his head on the black haired alpha's shoulder. Both of them decided to just put on white T-shirts and sweatpants, ready to continue their much needed sleep on the plane.

He didn't know when he drifted off into sleep, but when he woke up, blue eyes were looking at him smugly, and Liam wanted to say something mean to his sister, but he's so comfortable right now. The taller alpha also realized that he's not in the same position he fell asleep in. Instead of just having his head leaned on Mar, the bulk of his weight is on his best friend, who's holding him up.

"Good morning, bro." Mar greeted him, his plush lips are in Liam's hair. "We just got here."

The alpha sat up properly and tried to stretch his arms in the same space available. "Morning."

Meg smiled at them, there's a glimpse of something in her eyes, but she turned away before Liam could tell what it was. Then, he saw people coming up to their car with trolleys. Well... Time to go.

"Hey..." Mar whispered, and the taller alpha faced his best friend.

In a blink of an eye, slender fingers landed on his neck, and Liam was pulled into the black haired alpha. Plush lips pecked his own lips for a brief moment before those same slender fingers pushed him away.

"Let's go." The black haired alpha smirked before opening the door.

Liam blinked, still shocked but his body moved on its own to follow Mar. Their suitcases were already loaded on to the trolley, and Meg was talking to the security guard. Blue eyes scanned their surroundings, and he laughed.

His sister parked as close to the runway as possible, and he could see the familiar shape of the same plane they took last year. Then, his eyes landed on something else, rather... Someone else.

Blue eyes squinted at the man who was checking the jet engine in the distance. He was wearing a pilot's cap, but not a pilot's uniform. Liam couldn't really see his face from this far, but he could see that the man was wearing a black T-shirt and trousers. It's the beginning of summer, so it's understandable that the pilot is in a T-shirt, but there's only one fucker who can style T-shirts with formal trousers and black leather loafers.

"Is that Rex?" The platinum blond alpha mumbled, and next to him, Mar seemed to see his older brother, too.

"Let's check." Mar took in a deep breath before shouting at the top of his lungs. "TYRANNOSAURUS REX SUCKS! DINOSAURS ARE OVERRATED!!!"

Liam wheezed when the man in the pilot cap turned to face them, and then he gave them a middle finger.

"Yeah, that's him alright." Mar tried to hold back his laugh, but he failed miserably. "Hey... I think he got bigger. Fuck... Did he get bigger?"

The last time they saw Rex, he just graduated high school at the prime age of eighteen going out of his way to throw Liam and Mar into the sand just because he could. He was built like a brick wall and quiet like one, too. Except when Blue was around, then he would babble animal facts to impress her.

Rex was one of the taller alphas in the long line of Mar's siblings, composed of 8 alphas and an omega who's dating Meg. His hobby was — Liam heard this being said from the fucker's own mouth— going to the gym everyday and listening to animal documentaries while he's working out. Rex was already hitting 6'5" when Liam and Mar barely reached his shoulders. However, that was.... Three, four, five, ... About six years ago, and now Liam is a good 6'6". The platinum blond alpha wants to stand face to face with that fucker and give him a middle finger without craning his head up.

"He was a Sergeant First Class in the Air Force." Meg added. "I just got his number from Star last night, and I asked to pick you two up. Can't imagine him driving with you."

"Oh, my dear kind and compassionate sister," Liam sighed. "The car would crash five minutes in."

Mar snorted. "I'd give three minutes at most."

His sister looked at the jet for a few seconds, and Liam swore he saw some emotions flashing in her eyes. "I think Rex changed for the better. He even sent a sticker in our little chat."

The fucker sent a sticker! Truly unheard of!

"Did he say anything about Blue?" Liam couldn't help but ask.

"What about her?" His older sister seemed oblivious to... Ahem... Rex and Blue's arrangements. The two younger alpha males won't say anything about it. Meg sighed when none of them talked, so she looked away. "Anyways, I'm starving. Let's get our free breakfast."

At 8:34 on a Wednesday morning, they were seated in one of the best restaurants the airport has to offer. Liam is pretty sure his sister was on to something when she walked into a dim sum restaurant and chose a round table for six in a private room. She's seated right next to Mar, and Liam was left with three empty seats in between him and his sister.

What kind of move is this? Make Rex choose where he sits to determine his personality or some shit? If he sits next to Liam, does that mean their fuel is over? If he sits next to Meg, that means he's still pissed at Liam and Mar for unknown reasons? If he sits in the middle, that means he's in the neutral zone?

"You're thinking too hard." Mar's slender fingers moved to touch Liam's under the white table cloth.

"Huh..." The taller alpha looked at his best friend, those magenta eyes held him softly. Liam wanted to kiss him right there, but here isn't the time.

Just as the platinum blond alpha was about to say something when a waitress opened the door, letting three people inside. The first one to come in was, of course, Rex. He doesn't have his pilot cap with him, but his sunglasses are hanging off his T-shirt collar. Mar was right, his older brother grew. He's more built than the last time they saw him, and he looks more mature with his hair cut short and pulled back. His resting bitch face didn't change one bit as he sat down next to Meg without greeting anyone.

The two other people who came into the room were a lovely middle aged couple. Liam's father was still wearing his silk white shirt and trousers like it's a normal school day while his mother was dressed in a comfortable flowy sky blue dress that matches her eyes.

"Good morning!" Liam greeted his parents with a smile as his mother took a seat next to him. Age is getting to her, and he could see crowfeet forming at the edges of her eyes when smiled back at him.

"Did you order?" His mom patted his head even though he's a fully grown adult alpha male. "I told your sister to order before us."

"We just got here, mom!" Meg said back as she gestured for the waitress to bring the menu.

Meanwhile, Mar was staring daggers at his older brother, who's staring back at the black haired with no malice in his deep brown eyes.
