Chereads / UNholy: The Hunter Reborn As a Vampire / Chapter 6 - THE LADY IN A SUIT

Chapter 6 - THE LADY IN A SUIT

"Please have mercy; I swear I'm not going to do it again!"

Begged by the man with a quavering tone of voice while bawling his eyes out, keeling on the green grass land of a wide field. Seeing the sight of him trembling while being drenched in his own blood, dripping from his head, making mud of a rusty color of red paint, is just like watching a dying insect. It's not worth the attention.

"You've just assaulted not just one but three girls at a time, and you're saying that I'll spare you; do you take me as a joke?"

Stated by the person in front of him, whose face was quite dim from its silhouette reflecting against the sun. He was wearing man's clothes, but his figure was rather slim to be called a man's body, with hair that length up to his neck, styled in a wolf cut, covering his forehead with side curtain bangs.

He wasn't shouting or acting like a mad man, but seeing him holding the cross bow in his hands makes the man fall on his butt, starting to crawl out of the scene.

"I wonder if this thing would make a hole in that bird-brained of yours."

After stating that in a rather annoyed tone of voice, he slowly loaded the crossbow and calmly took his time to the point that his attention was on the weapon. The man, whose clothes look rugged, immediately got the sharpened wooden stick he was hiding on his sleeves and charged an attack towards the noble-looking man, but then his body suddenly began to stiffen like a statue, seeing how he smirked viciously from his sight as if he was waiting for him to attack.

The peasant came flying right straight to the tree when the man with a noble appearance kicked him so hard that he was not even content and made a hole in his head using the cross bow he was holding in his delicate hands. He then snapped his fingers, and a man wearing a uniform bowed down to him, and immediately did their job without even asking, like they were used to it.

Just then the man dragged the peasant's body like nothing and threw it in front of the other man wearing a butler uniform like him while holding a dog with three heads whose saliva was dripping on the ground, and in just a blink of an eye the Cerberus devoured the body of the peasant right away. Seeing this scene, the two remained silent, while the other one that was holding the leash of the Cerberus stayed in an elegant posture with his eyes closed, but even so he could still hear the crunching bone and the tearing sound of his flesh from their mouth.

"What a sight." he stated as he took off the gloves on his hands to wipe it off with a white handkerchief.

While behind the bars of the slave cells, Mikelle could be seen murmuring words that only he was able to understand; it was as if he were performing a ritual before he slit his hands, making his thick blood drip into the small bottle before he tied it onto the neck of the crow.

"Send it to that person."

The crow then immediately followed his command and flew away in the dark.

Back to the mansion

The butler who was older than the other bowed down and handed over the bottle of blood to the nobleman who was busy wiping the dirt on his crossbow.

"A crow sent it on the way."

He then got the small bottle of blood and placed it in the sunlight, forming a slight smile on his face as if he knew who had sent it all the way to its mansion.

'ah…. That guy finally made contact.

Even though he was smiling from the outside, his expression was rather annoyed before he took off the cork, covering the bottle with one finger, and then gulped the blood down his throat.

"Puwah! I won't ever get used to this!" Urk-

Not even seconds past, a memory of someone else immediately flashes through his mind; it was the memory of Mikelle from the time he was killed and possessed the body of the man he never knew.

The butler flinched right in front of him, seeing how his expression darkened.

"Bastian." He called. "Take care of this place while I'm away." Stating it, he crushed the bottle into tiny fragments.

"As your command, milady."

Wearing the clothes of a man, he rode the black horse with a cape and a hat that were swaying along in the wind.

"Now, now it's time to have some fun. Hiyah!"

Present time.

The arena was covered in the deafening clacking sounds of swords and spears; there were exploding bombs everywhere, but only the screams of people wearing lavish clothing and jewelry won over all of the thunderous sound of chaos.

"Bwahahaha, your fighting skills got pretty rusty lately, huh!"

Fighting alongside with the woman that was dressed neatly as a man was Mikelle, whose eyebrow twitched the moment he heard her laugh.

"Ha, it's rich coming from you."

Hearing it made her sneer as they continued to fight the guards, whose armor was made of thick leather and steel.

The chaos continued as they slashed and stabbed the bodies of the monstrous guard that were covered in scale and spike. There were some who continued to fight, but the others who quaver immediately run to escape.

"No one can run away from me." Affirmed by the lady in suit.

After a while, they left the scene covered with blood and dust. The sun was already setting when they arrived at the dark horse awaiting them from the outside; the air was cold and yet polluted. There was nothing to fancy on this fallen land, but the sight of the fiery sun staring at him from the sky made him feel like there was a little bit of peace on this land.

"Here." She rummaged the bag that was tied in the horse, then threw the apple right straight to Mikelle along with the sharpened poisonous arrow that he calmly avoided as he tilted his head, leading the arrow pierced into the guard behind him that seems to have boldly followed them.

"Hop on."

Mikelle then joined her and rode the horse while biting through the skin of the apple. He jumped and sat sideways as he crossed his legs while the horse ran faster than the speed of light.

"What are you going to do now, Mikelle?"

The moon has already eaten the sun when they arrive at the kaira of the mountain, slowly riding the horse deep into the forest.

"There's only one thing for me to do right now," Mikelle replied.

"So are you going to find Caesar?" The lady asked, and Mikelle did not hesitate to reply.

"I will," he stated as he looked at the blinking stars that served as their map from above. "Even if it kills me," he added.

Hearing his answer, the woman gave him a deep sigh as they continued their conversation.

"Ha, you've never changed."

Mikelle did not say a word.

"Haha!" she burst out laughing for a second. "I thought that if your body has changed, the inside will too."

Her words made Mikelle snicker as he threw the apple core in front of the horse, which the horse had also eaten.

"You never change either."

She flinch.

"When are you going to stop disguising as a man, Serena?"

As soon as Mikelle said it, Serena's face turned red like a tomato.

"Shut up, you idiot! You would never understand me even if I told you, and it's comfortable to wear, you know!" She shouted right through his face.

"Yes, yes, you say so." He then replied mockingly, teasing Serena, who keeps babbling nonstop, but as soon as she did not hear Mikelle, she stopped as if her tongue had been bitten by a cat.

Feeling the warmth of him leaning on her back, who's peacefully sleeping like a log, Serena then feels like there's something burning inside of his chest; it's bearable but at the same time it gives her a sense of discomfort.

"Wake up, you idiot! We were almost there!" She shouted, locking her sight on the road.

"Ahh, you don't have to shout that loud-."

Both of them stopped, as if they were both frozen, when an earthquake silenced them. The expressions on their faces immediately turned serious, but feeling the breath of Mikelle on her nape made Serena explode.

"Damn it, it's all because of you!, you idiot! If you didn't lend on my back then I wouldn't have a hard time riding the horse-."

Mikelle covered her mouth with her hand as soon as he saw a troll made out of stones that were double the size of the pine tree.

"Shh! That guy is sensitive to sound."

Realizing the state of their situation, Serena sighed, but as soon as she opened her eyes, the calm aura she emits turned bleak, and she bit Mikelle's hands that were covering her mouth before she jumped down the horse, holding nothing but a rock she just picked from the ground.

"Leave it to me." She affirmed, which makes Mikelle smirk.

"As you wish...."
