Chapter 1 - The Case

Intelligence, lying, cunning and luck are the skills most needed to solve cases.

But sometimes intelligence is not accompanied by luck and makes a detective always fail

The four concepts are things that must always coexist. If one is missing, it will be difficult to fill the void.

Whether it's a difficult case or even an easy case, it definitely requires these four concepts.

However, some people also have all four concepts but take a different path from the detective.

Therefore, in today's criminal world, detective work is the most sought after and at the same time the least considered.

Have you ever heard of a child who, when asked about their aspirations, said they were a detective?

Does not seem. Doctors, teachers, astronauts, police, soldiers, or company leaders are the general answer in the environment.

But the presence of a detective becomes a pillar for peace in the criminal world as it is today.

...

...

Sydney, Australia, January 29, 2004.

A complicated case that requires detectives from around the world to work together to investigate.

A ship was found stranded on the outskirts of Sydney. The ship was found in a rusty condition and there was no sign of a moving crew or passengers.

Locals could not find out what happened to the ship, nor was it registered in any country.

With the help of several parties, the ship was successfully lifted ashore, but unusual discoveries were found inside the ship.

All passengers, crew and even the captain of the ship died very miserably. All the bodies that were in the ship had their heads cut off and missing.

A total of 443 passengers on board and 47 crew members were found dead without heads on board. There are no signs or clues that could lead to a conclusion as to what happened on that ship.

None of the people on board, including the crew members, are registered in another country. Various tests and autopsies were done many times and still got the same results.

All the bodies on board are not in the information system of any country.

That makes this case very difficult to solve.

Hundreds of detectives from around the world are assigned to find out and investigate the ship simultaneously.

Louis Scofield is one of the young detectives from New York who takes part in the investigation, but there is something that sets him apart from other detectives.

His investigation goes one step further than other detectives.

Sydney, April 14, 2004.

In One of the facilities provided by the world government for detectives to investigate the ship.

Louis sat on a chair staring at the computer monitor screen in front of him. White hair and an iron plate covering his eyes make him look like someone who is playing detective.

"Louis, what do you see?" A young woman with a smiling gaze asked Louis who was looking at the monitor in front of him.

"Mmm, investigate" Louis said.

"Hmmm, is opening adult pictures like that also an investigation?" The woman had a disappointed face.

Louis held the mouse in his right hand then turned off the computer in front of him.

"I have to go now" Louis said taking his jacket which was on the back of his chair and immediately put it on.

"Where?" asked the woman.

"To the ship" Louis smiled taking his round hat and put it on.

"Eh, again? This is the fourth time you've gone there in one day." The woman looked disappointed once again.

Louis leaves the facility and heads to the ship which is a crime scene and a source of clues for detectives.

Watson Bay, 6:20 p.m

Where the mysterious ship is located.

The surrounding area is closed to ordinary civilians and can only be accessed by police officers, detectives or other authorities.

"As usual, this place is very crowded" Louis muttered walking closer to the ship area.

Many people passing by around the area, other detectives and officers still don't get clear instructions about this case.

"This is not normal, I don't think this ship is from earth" One police officer can be heard talking to another officer.

Louis walked past them casually.

"Normal? Mmm, this world was already abnormal from the start" Louis stared ahead.

A screen was displayed in front of him like a hologram. Louis seemed to have gotten used to the screen and it seemed he was the only person who could see or control the screen.

"Let's see one more time, this time we have to be more careful" Louis muttered closing his eyes for a moment then opening them again.

Louis' vision at this time became different from before, every detail of the place, It was seen by the various information written on the object that Louis was observing.

"This information keeps leading me to Rosa Canost, an adult film actress, what does this ship have to do with an adult film actress?" Louis looked confused.

"Louis? Are you here again?" A woman in a police uniform approached Louis.

"Yes, I want to check a few things" Louis replied.

The woman was tall and even taller than Louis, and brown hair and eyes. She is Emma, one of Louis' acquaintances who is also assigned to this ship.

"The longer this case gets more complicated" Emma sighed.

"Several detectives resigned from this case because they felt it was not logical," continued Emma.

"Do you know Rosa Canost?" Louis asked Emma.

"Eh?" Emma's face started to turn red at Louis's words.

"What do you mean?" Emma spoke while avoiding eye contact with Louis.

From behind Louis a man interrupted.

"Rosa Canost? I knew she had something to do with this ship." A man with square glasses and a handsome face came forward and stood beside Louis.

"Who?" Louis was a little distracted.

"Oh, sorry I haven't introduced myself, I'm Japan's greatest detective Shin." The man held his glasses and made a confident face.

After that, the man showed a photo to Louis.

"This is the same sign" Shin said.

Shin showed two photos, one was a photo of a room with a chain mark forming the number seven, and the other photo was a photo of a tattoo showing the same sign.

"Seen from anywhere this is the same sign" said Shin.

Louis and Emma look at the photo carefully, even though Louis already knew about the sign from the start.

"That's strange, when doing an internet search with keywords of that name, it will eventually arrive at that adult film actress"

"It's as if she became the mascot or cover trail of this mystery" Louis muttered.

"Isn't this a tattoo? Whose tattoo is this?" Emma asked Shin.

"This is the tattoo that is under Rosa Canost's armpit" Shin confidently spoke.

"Ugh, disgusting" Emma looked at Shin with disgust.

Actually it was not only that sign that directed this case to Rosa Canost, but there were also a number of things such as the clothes the victims used had a pattern similar to the clothes that were often shown in her films. Louis had already gotten a lot of pointers but kept getting directed at the Woman.

"Wait! If Rosa is just a trail cover, then doesn't she have some connection with this ship in the end?" Louis thought.

"Then, if that's true...should I find out about that woman's background?" Louis wondered in his mind.

"If you are thinking of finding out about Rosa, then just give up" Shin said.

"He was found dead last night with unknown causes" said Shin.

"The trail cover was removed, what is the mastermind behind all this starting to erase the tracks?" thought Louis.

"One of my fellow detectives handled the case, and he didn't find anything strange, it was a suicide attempt" Shin continued.

"But still it's weird" Shij held his chin.

"Is that case still ongoing?" he asked.

"Yes, but like I said, until now my friend has not found anything strange in his death" Shin said again.

Louis smiled and felt a big clue.

"That's because he can't see things clearly" Louis said to Shin.

Louis researched the case for a while and then decided to fly to Italy where Rosa's death occurred.

Sydney Airport, 1 February 2004

"Somehow, I feel there is something strange about me," muttered Louis feeling a little different.

A few moments later, Louis boarded the plane he was going to be on.

"Why am I agitated like this?" Louis sat on one of the airplane seats.

A few moments later, the plane finally took off and started to fly into the air, but after traveling part of the way, the plane suddenly became unstable over the vast ocean surface.

The plane dived and plunged down at high speed.

The plane exploded and produced a large explosion that occurred above sea level.

It was several days later that news began to spread rapidly about the plane crashing.

Not only planes, several strange incidents also occurred in several different places.

Where the ship was located, a mysterious explosion occurred and left hundreds of victims.

A train rolled upside down and also resulted in many casualties.

bombing in several places.

The events of the incident began to spread and cover the news about the ship that was found earlier.

But the other truth behind the incident is also a bigger one, in all incidents, be it bombing, and mysterious explosions and several cases that are considered suicides, a detective or police officer handling the case of the ship who becomes the victim.

Italy, 5 February 2004

Boss, all interfering parties have been removed. A man in a suit and neat appearance spoke to someone who was sitting looking out from a tall building.

"Good, this way, there's nothing to worry about," said the man who sat facing out the window of the building.
