"Father, did you notice anything amiss today?" Irene examined him as they sat at the dining table. She glanced at Lucian who was already staring at her questioningly, his brows drawn together in confusion.
"What are you referring to, Sylvaine? What have I missed?" Seymour could not discern what she was getting her and lowered his spoon as he gave her his undivided attention.
Irene dithered when she saw his exhausted expression. He seemed weary and for a moment, she considered the strange incident that had happened in the evening.
"Why do you look so tired, Father? Is work stressful?" Irene pitied the man. She more or less empathized with him.
