Greyson clung to his parents, feeling their trembling bodies as they tried to shield him from harm. The vampires were everywhere, swooping down from the rooftops and snatching up villagers in their sharp claws.
"We have to do something!" Greyson exclaimed, his voice shaking with fear.
"We need to get out of here," his father replied, his eyes darting around frantically. "It's not safe."
"But what about everyone else?" Greyson cried out. "We can't just leave them here to die!"
His mother put a hand on his shoulder, her face grave. "Greyson, we have to think about our own safety first. We can't help anyone if we're dead."
Greyson knew she was right, but he couldn't just abandon the villagers to their fate. Summoning all his courage, he stepped forward, determined to do whatever he could to help.
"I'll try and distract them, you two should make a run for the village borders," Greyson's father said firmly, looking at his wife and son.
