As Luna and Rachel walked out of the door and into the cool evening air, Luna couldn't help but wonder what the future held for her and the man she shares a blood bond with; her target now turned mate.
Lincoln Park wasn't far from Rachel's place so they decided to go on foot. The walk to the park was quiet, with both girls lost in their thoughts. Luna couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that settled in the pit of her stomach, even as Rachel tried to lighten the mood with her jokes and teasing.
As they approached the park, Luna saw a figure standing in the distance, his back turned to them. She knew it was Damian, even before he turned around and smiled at her.
"Hey, Luna," he said, his voice deep and smooth. "I'm glad you could make it."
Luna felt her heart skip a beat at the sight of Damian standing in front of her, her cheeks flushing with a mix of nervousness and excitement.
