Chapter 7 - Final meeting

Time skip 5 months

It's been five months since the detention pit incident and for the most part, my life here has been going better than before with me achieving above-average scores in class without Ms.Smelle who was replaced soon after the incident for abusing her position as a teacher. I've also been hanging out with Willow who's still stuck learning how to make Abominations but hey it's gotten easier for her with me and Augustus around... oh yeah I forgot to mention how Willow met Gus in that same empty classroom as he was freaking out just like in the show, oh and I've learned some new magic types along with advancing the magic I already know which has gotten to a high intermediate level close to advanced.

One of the new magic types that I learned in school is beast keeping magic going as far as mid-beginner level which is pretty fast for a complete newbie from what I've been told. What's also useful is the books I got for every type of magic since l what I'm learning from them with the help of Eda (which Raine had to convince.) could come in handy later with my skill level in them being Construction (untrained), Oracle (untrained), Abomination (introductory ), Illusion (beginner), Plant (beginner), potions (beginner), healing (intermediate), beast keeping (mid-beginner), and finally Bard (advanced). This is impressive for 5 months of reading from a book while getting Eda's limited guidance of her mostly sleeping while telling me to figure it out.

Though things like this have been going well, there have been some hiccups with me reluctantly avoiding Amity after that incident which she seemed kind of sad about. It kind of hurts to see her like that but she should've thought more about the consequences of her actions. Now you may say that I'm being too harsh but I just don't feel all that great staying around her since I needed time to process what she did I may be going to a party at her Manor later today since she invited me to go and I'm thinking of finally reconciling with her. Well, that's all until the next entry. *click*

As I got up to eat breakfast already changed into my uniform, I walked down the halls that seemed a bit different than before I walked down the stairs arriving in the living room that had an owl on the ceiling as I walked into the kitchen to see Eda and Raine eating breakfast along with a dog-like creature with a skull covering the top part of its head. "So how's the lovely couple and King," I said sarcastically as I saw the bags under their eyes before Eda's eyes shot wide open as she turned to me. "We could be doing better and kings doing fine," Eda said as she stabbed a piece of her eggs. "Well that sucks but hey maybe you shouldn't have been up all night yesterday preparing," I said as I chuckled nervously.

"Well, we can't do anything about it now so just get to school," Eda said as she pushed me out the door and slammed it closed. "Well ok then, I guess I'll get going to school then," I said as I whistled this time without any magic a gecko with wings flew down to the ground before it hopped on my shoulder. "Hey, Gregory. How's it going?" I asked Gregory as he just stared at me. "Well that's better than last time, Now let's get to school," I said as it took off towards the nearby school before I stopped in front of the school where I spotted Augustus and Willow. "Hey guys," I said putting on the best smile I could as I waved and walked over to them. "Hey, Az! How's your morning going?" Augustus asked smiling.

"It could be going better. So you ready for another day of classes?" I asked as cheerfully as I pumped my fist in the air trying to act goofy before hearing a giggle behind me as I turned to see Amity looking off to the side pretending to be chatting with her new friends. "Yeah, we are!" I heard as I turned towards Willow to see her with a determined face as she stares ahead intensely. "Good enthusiasm but try to tone it down," I said as I was greeted by a few people who passed by me while I waved back. "Az you seem pretty popular for a guy who acts pretty reluctant to do much," Willow said noticing how many people I seemed to know. "Well, I just thought I should try to be as friendly as possible so I act pretty friendly around people," I said as a girl walked up to me and handed me a gift box of some kind. "A gift? I haven't done anything to earn one, is this a mistake?" I said as I read the tag on it. "From your friend, sorry for what I did," I said reading out what it said before I looked around for the girl who gave it to me only to not find her. "Well whatever," I said as I put the gift in my bag before I walked off to a new day of classes.

Time skip 8 hours later

As I arrived home I felt Gregory fly off my shoulder before I walked inside Eda's house. "Hey, Eda, Raine I'm back," I said exhausted as I dropped my bag off by the door. "Welcome back Az!" I heard Raine greet as he walked out of the kitchen area wearing oven mittens and an apron holding a pan. "You came back at just the right time. Eda and I just finished baking this casserole(?)." Raine said as Eda walked out of the kitchen with parts of her hair singed. "You realize there's going to be food at the party right?" I said as I walked up to Eda and put out a few hairs that had a bit of fire on them.

"Yes but this is for King and Eda since they won't be coming," Raine said as he walked back into the kitchen. "Ah, ok well I'll go get Changed for the party now," I said as I started walking upstairs to my room I get changed into something more formal before coming back down the stairs 30 minutes later with a bag slung over my shoulder. "What's with the bag?" Raine said who I just noticed was standing by the door in formal wear. "Ah just some books to read during the party," I said nervously as Raine stared at me suspiciously I looked at my bag filled with textbooks on the magic types. "Sure but you have to at least talk to your friend at the party before you go reading whatever you're bringing," Raine said as he turned to the door, opening it.

"S-sure," I said smiling as I remembered I didn't tell him how I had been avoiding Amity for the last few months which may have been a bad move on my part. "Ok well let's get going!" I said in a nervously eager voice. 'Oh wait! I forgot that box.' I thought before grabbing it from my school bag. "Yes just wait a second..." Raine said as we walked out the door before he said his goodbyes to Eda before we headed off towards the party.

POV Change Amity

"Ok Amity Blight Az accepted your invitation, this is your chance to make up after all this time don't screw this up," Amity said lecturing herself as she paced back and forth across her room as thought back to the gift she got for him. 'I hope he liked it.' She thought smiling before she heard a knock on her door as it opened. "Amity Sweetie did you change into what I told you to?" Amity's mother Odalia said as she walked into Amity's room. "Yes, mother I have," Amity said respectfully as Odalia smiled. "Good now, could you please go greet the guests? They just arrived and I already have my hands full managing the staff." Odalia said as a server passed by the room causing Odalia to turn around and scream at them to get back to work before she turned back to Amity.

"You see what I mean? You can never find competent servers this day that's why I need you out there with your siblings greeting the guests." Odalia said as she led her daughter out to the main Foyer of the house where the guests were flooding in as Amity looked at her mother. "Ok, but could I poss-" before Amity could finish speaking her mother cut her off. "Great, well I won't hold you up. Oh and remember, don't disappoint me." Odalia said making Amity nervously gulp before walking off. "But I need to talk to a friend..." Amity said before Edric pulled her to where Emira and he were standing. "Hey, little sis doesn't worry about it, for now, you can help us greet the guests to take your mind off things," Edric said before being given some cards by Emira to hand out. "Like Edric said you can help us hand out cards to guests..." Emira said before looking down at her sister's disappointed face. "But if you happen to spot him then maybe you could have a quick chat with him while Edric and I take care of handing out cards for a bit," Emira said as Edric leaned over to them.

"We will? But I thought we all ha- ow!" Edric said as he was interrupted by Emira pinching him. "Thank you Emira!" Amity said as she hugged her sister. "It's no problem, now let's get back to handing out cards before mom sees us slacking off," Emira said as Amity, Edric, and her go back to handing out cards.

POV Change Chris, Manor entrance

As Raine and I walked up to the Manor's door we were greeted with two Abominations acting as guards for the Manor reading everyone's invitations. "Here you go! Everything should be on there." Raine said handing our invite to the abomination as he looked it over nodding before he opened the door for us to pass through. "*sniff* Ah! Can you smell that? That's the smell of great cuisine. Now I'm going to go off and 'mingle' with the crowd, make sure to stay out of trouble, and try to reconcile with that friend of yours, this stubborn streak of yours has gone on long enough Az." Raine said ruffling my hair as he walks off leaving me there frozen in surprise.

'How did he find out that I've been ignoring Amity.' I thought as I felt someone tap my shoulder behind me before I turned around to see Emira. "Here's a card sir." She said in a serious tone before she smiled playfully. "It's Az, right? My sister's been searching for you since we started handing these dumb cards out." Emira said she said rolling her eyes. "So where can I find her?" I said before Emira pointed towards the base of a staircase crowded with people. "She's over there, so try not to keep her waiting." Emira said before pushing me towards it causing me to stumble as I bumped into someone. "Ow! Oh sorry, si-" I heard a familiar voice start to say before they suddenly stopped as I looked up to see Amity looking at me in surprise.

"Ah hey, Am-" I started to say before Amity dropped the cards she was holding as she ran off. "Sorry about that, Mittens was just a bit surprised bumping into you so suddenly." I heard a voice say as I turned to see Emira picking up the scattered cards on the ground. "Well, I guess I should go after her then." I said awkwardly as I run after her. "Good luck!" I hear from behind me as I wade through the crowd before I found myself near an empty hallway. "-stupid stupid stupid, why did you run away from him? After five months of him brushing you off, he finally wanted to talk to you again! Stupid Amity, stupid." I heard from the hallway as I peeked around to see Amity pacing in circles before sitting down with her legs curled up against her face.

'Ah! I didn't think that she cared about apologizing to me so much!' I thought feeling bad for treating this whole thing so casually before I walked up to her. "H-Hey you ok?" I asked awkwardly leaning down as she suddenly stood up knocking my head back. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't- Az! Why are you here!" Amity asked apologizing before she recognized me as I said it was ok when she apologized. "You sent me an invite didn't you?" I said rhetorically as I laughed awkwardly. "You know what I mean. Why are you here in this hallway?" Amity asked as I looked towards her. "Well, you ran off suddenly so I followed you here." I said as I looked towards the wall avoiding her gaze.

"Well whatever, more importantly, did you hear anything?" Amity asked looking at me with an angry blushing red face with tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "N-nope! Did you say something important?" I ask nervously. "Never mind then let's just get back to the party." Amity said trying to rush out of the hallway before I grabbed her wrist. "Hey... I just wanted to say, I'm sorry for brushing you off these past few months, I was just kind of surprised by what you did at school and I wanted to say I forgive you for trying to put me in the detention pit, I know it was just Ms.Smelle forcing you into that-" I said before I was stopped by Amity. "How about we continue this conversation outside?" Amity said as we walked over to a door in the hallway that led outside.

As Amity opened it she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards an isolated place with a group of trees by the forest. "Welcome to my little hideaway." Amity said awkwardly as she sat down on a large rock. "This is where I go when I want to be alone at home." Amity explained as she turned to me. "Now can I con-" I started to say before Amity interrupted me once again. "Before that, I wanted to say something that I've been thinking about saying ever since you saved me from those bullies that were chasing us and I know you'll be like "why didn't you just say it at that time" but that's because it was something-" Amity said as I spotted a silhouette rushing past Amity as I stopped Amity from speaking any further. "Wait there's something here." I said looking around before seeing that creature staring me down coldly with its gleaming crimson eyes. "Amity you need to head back now." I said extremely seriously.

"Head back and find Raine and tell him it's here, he'll understand." I said as Amity turned towards me. "Wait what do you-" Amity said before noticing the creature staring us down. "Go!" I yell as Amity runs off and the creature charges at us before I drew a spell circle and whistled as a wave of air bigger than any I made before came blasting through the circle aiming for the creature as I hopped out of the way as it continued to run towards us as I turned around and ran after Amity before it suddenly sped up as it rushed past me before it suddenly stopped in front of me blocking my path as I realized one thing, one terrifying thing. It wasn't mindlessly attacking us... it was hunting me. "If you want to fight then we can do it somewhere else!" I yelled as I whistled this time using beast-keeping magic to summon something that looked to be a gecko with wings that flew down before it grew bigger and scalier as it flew towards the creature jumped out of the way before I took the chance to jump on my beast as it grew in size becoming more draconic by the second as it completed its transformation into a full-fledged dragon and though he wasn't at full maturity yet he was still quite fast as we took off towards the forest as the creature chased us, it's focused gaze never leaving me as I directed Gregory to a clearing where he swooped down before I jumped off of his back as he flew back up into the air looking between me and the wolf-like creature.

"Go on! I'll be fine from here!" I yelled to Gregory as he looked at me for a second before flying off as I turned back to the creature that looked like a wolf. "So you want to fight me again? Didn't you learn from last time when I cauterized half of your face?" I said putting on a confident bravado as I panicked on the inside. 'Crap! crap! crap! Why did I try to be selfless when I should've just run back to the party with Amity and could just wait on Gregory's back until this thing got boring noooo I just had to act cool by facing this guy on the ground after sending Gregory away! Stupid! stupid! stupid!' I thought to myself before I saw the creature lunging towards me as I jumped out of the way landing unceremoniously on the ground. "Ow ow ow, that hurt." I said before standing back up.

"You know maybe you should let a guy finish his panicked thoughts before you attack him?" I said sarcastically as it charged towards me before I cast a spell a few vines shot out of the ground grabbing onto the creature's leg causing it to stumble as it fell flat on its stomach I drew an ice glyph and pressed down on it as a club-shaped piece of shot out of it as I grabbed it by it's roughly made handle before I swung it down towards the creature head only for the creature to tear off the vines holding it as it dodged to the side. "Oh shit!" I said as the creature lunged towards me again before I gripped the ice club I made with my two hands the creature rammed me slamming into the club as it shattered sending me flying backward and landing flat on my back before I slowly got back up.

"You want to know something, you're really annoying. You're like a stalker who doesn't want to leave me alone. You know what I'm going to call you Stalker from now on." I said annoyed before coming up with a name for the creature. As I stood there watching Stalker start to circle me, I cast a spell, drawing a circle of magic as a ball of fire shot out towards Stalker who yet again dodged out of the way seemingly startled by the fire coming towards it before charging at me as I cast another spell whistling towards the ground creating a wave of sound that hit the ground creating a cloud of dust as I ducked out of the way of my previous position as I saw Stalker lunge towards where I was standing previously before disappearing back into the cloud of dust as I created more ice and fire glyphs on the ground before I look around to see a silhouette approaching me as I stomp on the fire and ice glyph simultaneously as I was carried up by a platform of ice as the cloud of dirt was engulfed in flames.

"Whew! Looks like Stalker was burned up by that attack." I said as I sat down on the ice before I heard a crack I saw the ice on the platform start to crack before I saw it crack again. "*crack**crack**crack*" I heard before I looked down to see Stalker who I thought died in the explosion as he rammed into the pillar of ice one final time as the base shattered. "HOLY SHIT!" I said as the platform I stood on slowly fell over. 'Calm down Chris you trained your entire life for a moment like this' I thought as I jumped off the ice when I got close to the ground before I positioned myself shoulder first as I rolled on the ground reducing the force of the impact. "10 out of 10..." I said standing up as I ducked behind a rock. "Think Chris think what can I do! Wait, that could work." I whispered to myself as I got to work.

POV Change ???

'The human is doing it again. That thing where it hides behind something to surprise me, but I won't fall for it again even if it learned some new tricks to impede me from killing it.' Stalker thought as it sniffed out Chris who was hiding behind a large rock. 'Too easy.' It thought as its maw morphed into what looked like a grin as it silently approached Chris. As Stalker turned the corner it saw Chris making a large fire glyph. 'I won't let you do that again!' Stalker thought as it grew bigger before lunging towards Chris growling Chris ran to the other side of the circle before he could stomp down on it, Stalker noticed as he quickly landed before swiping his tail over it Chris smiled and grabbed onto him as he had a gash torn into his side as a sharp part of rock-cut his side open causing Chris to scream in pain and let go as he was launched into the air from the force of hanging onto Stalker's swinging tail. 'Wait where did that human go?' Stalker thought as it looked around to see where it launched Chris.

POV Change Chris, mid-air

'Ok, I've got only one shot at this so let's make it count!' I thought as I drew a ring before taking a deep breath I whistled into the ring as it started holding the sound, shaping it into a concentrated blade sharper than most well-made swords before I finished whistling causing the blade of sound to shoot forward towards Stalker as it turned around noticing me, unfortunately for it, it noticed me too late as the blade of sound sliced clean through its neck as I fell hard to the ground before Stalker's blood spewed from what was left of its neck splattering all over me as I felt a horrible searing pain everywhere on my body as my vision slowly went dark.

Time skip, an hour later

"*Gasp*!" I woke with a jolt as I sat straight up slamming my hands into the ground. "What *gasp* happened?" I said out loud as I looked around to see I was in the same place as before except for the fact that the sun was setting and everything seemed smaller. "Wait what about-" I said as I looked towards where I remembered Stalker's corpse was only to see a dried-up wolf-like corpse laying there. "What the?" I said to myself as I reached over to the husk only to see a large hand with claw-like nails reach out for it. 'Wait what the fuck is that?!' I thought as I backed up only to realize that it was my arm before I rushed over to the riverside only to see crimson red eyes, obsidian black hair, and extremely sharp wolf-like canines jutting out from the top and bottom between the other normal teeth. "Aaahhh!" I screamed seeing this as I panicked. "What is this? Why is this?" I said confused and panicked. "Am I stuck like this?!" As I looked around as I realized that I seemed to be a bit closer to the height of the trees before I stopped moving around too much, realizing I was panicking as I took some deep breaths to calm down. "Ok deep breaths Chris, it's ok, everything's going to be okay," I said to myself as I started to pace around again, this time a bit calmer.

'Ok let's go over this from the beginning, I was fighting Stalker before I was launched up in the air where I used a spell to slice off its head as I fell before I landed on my back before its weird blood splattered all over me... speaking of blood, I don't see any on me." I said to myself before I realized what might have happened before I felt pain from my side causing me to wince. "Ooh I forgot about that, let me just heal that quickly," I said as I cast healing before my wound almost instantly closed. "That's weird my wounds don't usually close that fast?" I thought before realizing this might also be possible due to this transformation. "Well whatever, for now, let's find a way to turn back." I said as I tried to transform back by focusing hard as I repeated 'transform' in my head to no avail. 'Well, that idea was a bust. Though I knew that probably wouldn't work. Man, I wish I could just go back to the days when I was human.' I thought as I pictured my human self before I felt myself shrinking I looked down to see my hands going back to normal before I saw a brown lock of hair fall on my forehead. 'Wait am I really back to my...' I thought as I ran up to the water only to trip on something I didn't notice before I fell forward, towards the river before I saw a bright light I closed my eyes expecting to feel boiling water only to feel hard ground confusing me. "Huh?" I said as I opened my eyes to see... green leaves in the sunlight?
