(Six Months Later – Hong Kong) - June 2002
“Happy Birthday!” Jason couldn’t wait to take his niece from his sister when Gillian opened the door to her brother and his girlfriend, Gabby. It was June 18 and there was a dinner gathering at her home to celebrate her daughter’s first birthday.
“If you let her down, you need to watch her. She’s just taken her first steps two weeks ago.” Gillian passed her daughter to her brother. “She’s been trying to run all over the apartment.”
“You are trying to run before you walk.” Jason mimicked in baby talk to his niece causing her to squeal excitedly in high pitch.
“Lemon-B!” Gillian gave her a stern look and the baby stopped and gave her mom an innocent look. Then she smiled as if nothing happened and started to play another game, blowing saliva. Gillian gave up and said to her brother and Gabby. “Okay, you two are responsible for her. I need to get dinner ready before everyone else gets here.”
“Where is Ethan?” Jason asked.
