When Derek and Katie were done with the photo session, they headed to the reception hall where the guests were enjoying some snacks and sandwiches. The time for the newlywed couple to cut their wedding cake was soon approaching and Erica, the party organizer, realized she had forgotten the champagne.
“No champagne?! How will we make the toast to the couple?” Mark blurted mindlessly which caused Erica to glare at him.
Derek overheard the conversation and approached them. “We can use Sprite or 7up. It’s just a formality.”
“What’s the matter?” Gillian asked as she approached with Katie.
“Erica forgot the champagne for the toast.” Derek told them.
“You can always toast with wine.” Gillian suggested.
“We took all the wine to the restaurant for tonight.” Katie added.
