Morning came, or well, technically it's closer to dawn, the reason I'm out and about so early today is that I needed to find some materials.
my farms have been growing a little slow lately I wanted to hunt for skeletons to get bones so I can craft some bonemeal.
Now normally going out at night alone is a bad idea, so I decided to pick a time when monsters weren't as common, right before the sun rose!
Skeletons are one of the more common mobs, so I'm bound to find at least a couple this morning!
Oh, there are some now! I snuck around in the tall grass and struck when they got close!
*Whack* *Crackle* *thump*
The skeletons broke apart, and I picked up whatever bones I could from the corpse that wasn't shattered/ uncollectable.
Okay, so far I got 5 bones, to be honest, this isn't really all that impressive, that's about like 15 pieces of bonemeal together. I still have some time until the sun rises, might as well keep hunting!

As I continued about in the forest, I heard someone and something approaching me, but it didn't just sound like a few monsters, no, more like a rustling stampede of some sort!
In response, I grab my iron sword whilst scanning the environment, having no idea what to suspect! The sound is getting closer, I know it's a hoard of SOMETHING! I just can't tell what, I should probably get out of here, no point in sticking around to find out!
After all, I also made plans later today to go to the Plains biome to meet up with Teles, so getting injured or worse would probably not be the best idea!
As I started to make my way out of there, something caught my eye, I spotted someone, a girl, running away from a large pack of... wolves!?!?!?
What are wolves even doing all the way out here!?!? They must've been the stampede I kept hearing, and jeez, they looked scarier in this world than they did in Minecraft, well, they just looked like the wolves from my world at least.
I gotta help her! A wolf pack that large was nearly impossible to fight when they were provoked, But I didn't want to fight them directly.
Even when you're armed wolves are hard to fight, especially since I was outnumbered. That's when it came to me, I don't need to fight them! I just need to outmaneuver them!!!
'How about I build upwards in a block pillar', I know Wolves couldn't jump that high, so I could grab her while I was in a safe spot! Here goes nothing...
I placed a block in their direction, jumped onto it, and jumped in midair while placing another block below my feet.
In Minecraft, we just call this technique "Building up" It's a great way to get to high places quickly, I'm just glad I can still use techniques like this in this world too. I kneeled down and offered my hand.
"HEY! Over here!!!" I called, she noticed me and ran towards my direction, good!!!
I then proceeded to reach out to grab the girl and pull her up to my platform,(If I can punch trees, then I could lift someone my height no problem!)
Once I got her up, I then decided to give her some breathing room by building over from my pillar to a nearby tree where the wolves couldn't reach us.
The only way to provoke wolves is if you attack one of them, then the entire pack goes after you, they were kinda like zombie Pigman, except you can tame them with bones and make them your pet.
"You okay?" I asked the girl as she was trying to catch her breath
"Yeah, thanks," she finally collected herself, then came to a realization "Wait, why did you help me???"
'That's what you decide to ask next? I guess wherever she was from must've been a rougher area if random people helping confuses you!'
I shrugged "I just had the ability to do something about it I guess."
"You aren't scared of who I am???" she responded
I was taken aback a little by her response, 'did I save some kind of criminal here or somethin?' Wow, even I hate my own thinking sometimes!
"Well jeez, why would I? It's not like I have social anxiety here!" I joked, trying to lighten the mood here.
"..."
I don't get what's wrong with her, but I should introduce myself here, I reached out my hand to her and said "I'm Takeo, nice to meetcha," Might as well get introductory out of the way while the window is still open, after all, it might get her to ease up here.
"Oh right! I'm Rei of the Ju Kokkaku!" Rei said as I helped her up.
"Ah, that's so cool!" I remarked, "What's that?"
"Eh? You never heard of us?"
"No, what is that, some kind of music band or something?"
"You're a lot denser than I thought" Rei whispered to herself
"Hmm, I gotta ask, why would you attack a wolf, don't you know they hunt down whatever hurts them?" I asked trying to figure something out
Rei looked at me in a bit of annoyed shock "Wha- I didn't even attack them! They jumped me first!!!" (Jeez, Never knew she was the defensive type)
Now I was really confused, wolves don't normally strike first, unless, their target is a passive mob. The only other entity I know they would attack is Skeletons... Skeletons..... wait a minute.
I observed Rei, her skin was a little pale possibly due to lack of direct sunlight. She had a bow on her back, long white hair, dark brown eyes, a blue ribbon (or hair bow) in her hair, and an outfit that looked kinda like black-skintight (probably spandex) battle wear.
Judging by these clues, was she a skeleton who collected enough XP to start turning back to normal?
It was impossible to tell at first because she looked so human, not boney at all, heck I thought Rei was just a normal human like me if I didn't look more closely, She noticed me staring at her as the wolves gave up and left the area.
"Umm is something wrong?" she asked a bit concerned
"Tell me Rei, I don't mean to jump to conclusions, but are you actually a skeleton mob?" I questioned
Rei was shocked 'How does... she? not know I was a monster? Everyone I meet knows who I was right away and attacks!!!' She thought. 'Was this Takeo's first time seeing a skeleton or something?'
"You mean you didn't know already?" Rei asked me
"Eh, just an observation?" I replied constantly
"And you decided to help me anyway?"
"What? Seeing monsters like this was rare,"
"Man, you're strange..." Rei concluded shaking her head
"Hey now! I'm only helping because I know about the incident!!!"
"Huh? How do you know about the-"
"I have another friend who told me all about it! That all the monsters that lived in this world used to be humans!" I explained
"Wow, that's the first time I ever seen another human show me sympathy..." Rei said impressed.
While we were chatting, Rei looked up to the sky, she noticed the sun was starting to rise, she needed to cut things short and get cover in a cave or tree.
"U-umm look I appreciate you getting me out of that situation, but I REALLY need to go, if we ever meet again, I will explain everything later," Rei said to me in a rush.
I noticed the sun starting to set too, knowing skeletons were one of the mobs that burned during the day, I decided to cut our conversation short.
"Ah, I understand, here take this!" I said handing her a bucket of water. One way a skeleton won't burn in the day is if they are either in water or have armor on their heads, so this was good to have as a last resort if Rei was in the sun.
Rei took it from me happily, thanked me, climbed down the tree, and made her getaway.
"Let's meet up again!!!" I called out while waving
"Of course!" Rei replied, Looking back at me as she ran 'Why wasn't she scared of me though???' she thought aloud as she left.

As I gaze out into the vast open field, my eyes catch sight of a group of travelers by the river. However, I am not searching for mere ordinary humans, but rather those who do not belong to this world.
"I'd better double check to see if they're all actually otherworlders..."
I pulled out a wooden stick that was enchanted, and I pointed it at all 5 of the travelers, it started to glow, and it continued to glow when I pointed it at all 5 people.
"Looks like all of you are invasive species, it's not your lucky day!"
I pulled out 2 tridents in each hand, it was time to strike first
"HERE I COME!"
