Chapter 6 - A Djin

They both stood in front of a thick wall which had some bold inscriptions written on it. With the aid of their sharp angel eyesight they were able to clearly see engraved writings, even though Ramin couldn't interpret them. Not wasting any time, Snow recognized the inscriptions as ancient symbols, each with unique meanings.

Her fingers trailed upwards and downwards on the wall while she tried to interpret the symbols. The voices in her head grew louder, causing her to fumble while trying to read the symbols out loud. At last, she finally got it; the inscriptions clearly read:

"At dark night, the curse shall be lifted by a full Angel blood with the sound of her word".

Ramin who recognized a sorcerer's symbol amongst the strange inscriptions yelled, "This is a sorcerer's spell!".

Snow felt unsure of what she had just done. She couldn't really tell if her action had good or bad consequences.

"Do you think so?"

"I don't think so, I know so...and it might've been cast to hold something from breaking out", retorted Ramin who was almost melting in fear.

"Or someone"

They both stared at each other as they thought of what next to do because if Ramin was right, then they were in grave danger.

Suddenly, a loud sound was heard in the cave, accompanied by a strong quake which almost threw them off their feet. The thick wall on which the inscriptions were engraved parted as if it were a door, leaving the both of them shocked. Ramin grabbed hold of Snow's hand and held her close to him, covering her with his outspread wings for protection.

The other thick walls around them began crumbling, but Snow already took cover under Ramin's wings. It was now known to them that Snow had made a mistake by releasing such person or thing which was imprisoned in stone by a sorcerer - she was full Angel blood!

A sudden silence filled the air as the whole disastrous crumbling had seized, making things look more suspicious. Ramin uncovered Snow from his protection while he still remained very conscious about his surroundings.

"We need to get out of here quick!", whispered Ramin almost loudly.

"Look", said Snow as she saw someone standing in front of them.

A young but pale looking man with red fiery eyes stepped out of the other side of the newly parted door; he had a very dark and eerie aura which they both could perceive. He had long and sharp claws, and almost bloodshot eyes, adding much fierceness to his appearance.

In the blink of an eye, he disappeared and appeared right in front of the duo. Before they could even run, he tried to attack Snow very swiftly with a scratch. However, she was a good fighter, so she deflected his attack by grabbing his hand and twisting it backwards. Just like that, they started fighting.

With a sigh, Ramin drew out two sharp daggers from his pockets before charging towards the strange man. The man remained distracted while fighting with Snow, giving Ramin an opportunity to lunge an attack at the man with his daggers. Snow gave him a very hard blow on his chest before tearing off the long part of her beautiful wedding dress with the hairpin which she pulled out of her hair earlier.

The man felt a sharp and sudden rush of pain, which became more discomforting when Snow attacked him again. He angrily stared at Ramin for a short while before grabbing and lifting him in the air with his somewhat superhuman strength. His gaze still remained fixed on Ramin while holding him up in the air and Ramin could see the fury in the man's eyes.

Recognizing the man as a djin, Ramin spoke to Snow with his mind;

"He's a djin, Snow...and we're lucky he hasn't killed us yet".

"Let go of him!!!", Snow commanded without a single ounce of fear, drawing the man's attention.

The man's gaze shifted from Ramin to Snow, and it remained fixed on her for a few seconds. Then without a single warning, he threw Ramin away, not minding where he would land. He took a deep breath before finally disappearing without uttering a single word.

Snow rushed to help Ramin bounce back on his feet again because she could tell that he was in pain. With an outstretched arm, she attempted to help him up but he angrily refused.

" I'm sorry Ramin...I shouldn't have allowed it to happen", she apologized.
