I am locked in my bedroom with thoughts of the guy I could die for, as it is a cold and lonely day, I am lost in thoughts when suddenly hear a knock on my bedroom door.
" Who is it" I ask
"It's me dad"he says.
Before I could answer back, he has already entered my bedroom.
"Hey Laranie, It's time for dinner"he says
"I don't feel like eating right now"I say as I sigh loudly.
Then he comes close to me giving me a side huge
"What's the matter sweetie? tell me what's wrong"he says
I too give him a huge for comfort but i couldn't tell him nor my mom about Louis, so I lie to him.
"It's just that I miss my best friend Emily ever since she went to Canada one month ago"I say.
"Don't worry, you just give her a call, check up on her and you should know I am here for you when you need me plus your mom too, OK."
"OK, thank you dad" I give him a kiss on his cheek.
" I love you dad"
"I love you too Laranie, OK let's go down stairs for dinner now."he says
So as we head down stairs a beautiful, wonderful, most amazing smell covers the air, I rush down leaving my dad on the stairs.
"Hmm..., What's that wonderful smell".
I find the dinning table set and food already on the table, Mom makes the most breathe taking food ever. This time she has cooked chicken in rice, Meat on the side, Irish with greens and a big Jar of Juice fleshy made. I smile at the sight of the food as I sit down at the dinning table,The whole family is at the table dinning as dad brings jokes or two with laughter all around, then there is a moment of silence.
"So Laranie have you heard any words from Louis" Mom asks .
I am in a state of shock that my Mom knows about Louis although he is our immediate neighbor,Why would she ask me about him?
"He is fine, why do you ask mom?"I ask
"Oh nothing, Emily just told me to ask about him saying you know him better"says mom.
What fuck!! I am shocked that Emily could tell my mom about Louis that's being a Bitch you never know what she might have told my mom about my love for Louis.
"He is just fine, nothing much from him"I say as my heart beats faster as I await for what mom is gonna say next.
"OK, I will inform Emily"she says
"No, please mom don't talk to her again"
"Why don't you want me to talk to her"
"We are no longer friends"
"But why? she's your best friend with Jeremy"
"No, I only have Jeremy, Emily is no longer my friend"
"Why Laranie?"
"I just don't wanna talk about it right now".
Before she could answer, I stand up and run stairs to my bedroom shutting the door so hard behind me showing sign of anger. I start hitting my pillow and later scream in it so loudly that I think our neighbors could hear me, I then make a phone call to Jeremy who was also our neighbor across the street and he knew about Louis.
"Hello"says Jeremy
"Hi Jeremy"I answer as I am breathing out so loudly due to fighting with my pillow.
"What's wrong? Why are you breathing out so hard?"
"Well, first of all I am feeling sad because I miss you"
" I miss you too Laranie"
"And secondary, that Bitch Emily told my mom about Louis and I think she knows".
"What!! How?"he asks
"She called my mom asking about him saying I know him better, Which she asked me during dinner and you don't know what more information she could have told my mom".
"What a bitch, OK I wanna take you out tomorrow to just cheer you up"he says.
"OK,I will be waiting for you bye I love you Jeremy"
"I love you too Laranie"he says
As he hugs up I am smiling from ear to ear like a wholly goat, I put on my headset and start listening to music when I fall asleep. Mom finds me, removes the headsets then gives me a good night kiss on my fore head.
" I wonder why you have acted like that during dinner time"mom asks herself.
"Goodnight sweetie"Then she heads to my brothers bedrooms giving them kisses, when she heads to her bedroom she finds dad sited on the bed reading a book with a funny and weird title.
"What's wrong honey"he asks
"I am worried about Laranie, Why did she act like that during dinner time when I told her what Emily told me?"
"Forget about it, she is just missing her, that's all"
"But she says she is no longer her friend anymore, Why?"
"I say don't worry about it honey, she will be fine"
"OK, good night Nathaniel my love"
"Good night Martha my darling".
