"Gal. Wake up. Now."
Meilyr's panicked call jolted Gal-Enshu upwards before he had even opened his eyes. He looked around with unabashed confusion, his grip tightening on his spear.
"My Lord... where are... we?"
"Still in the same forest, it appears," Meilyr replied, expanding the area of his perception magecraft as much as he could with his current level of control. "They got us good. Forming teams before the selection began was pointless since they planned to separate us anyway."
He guessed that Gal-Enshu was sent here with him because he was his Soulbound.
"Tell me, did you receive an orb, too? From the Grade 1 Relic."
Gal shook his head. "Vile object. It refused me."
"That fits with Warden Sidonia's explanations." Meilyr nodded with a ponderous gaze. "You're an extension of me. In other words, you have the same status as a weapon or a spell. Only participants are acknowledged by the Auctor Septem."
