"Hiding your secrets behind snarky comments, I see," Cephissos noted. "Well, it doesn't matter. I shall extract them from your corpse."
He snapped his fingers, and multiple starry portals the size of a fist flickered into existence. They were far enough from Laemno not to be affected by the density of the Mana around him, yet still encircled his position.
"Toksotis." Cephissos conjured an elegantly ornate bronze bow, then aimed an arrow of light at the nearest black disk.
That's new. Laemno's thoughts raced. He's combining the arrows with his portals? This could be trouble.
"Let's see how you'll dodge this one," the Pontiff declared as he shot his glimmering bolt.
Its golden trail plunged into a portal, then left from another, only to travel through a third one again. The entry and exit points varied with no discernable pattern, making predicting its trajectory extremely difficult.
