Gal-Enshu felt his Lord's intent to kill.
His whole body shuddered as he dreaded the failure of his purpose—of the possible worthlessness of his impious act. Dying at the hand of the Fathomless One was an honor, yet he could find no joy in it, for he had much to accomplish for his sake. That in itself was the gravest of sins.
He had to do something, even if it meant betraying his oath. There was still a long way to go before the Banquet of Silver. He couldn't succumb before completing it.
"There have been rumors," he whispered, cautious not to displease his master. "Of people who have once abandoned the noble title of Nasru. They hold no loyalty to Erinnu Maatu, just as we have no love for them."
