Outside the Theurgic Fields, while a pillar of light was slowly engulfing part of the forest.
Warden Sidonia glowered at the amount of destruction wrought by the participants. After the Electus Minor, she would probably receive the brunt of the blame from the Formulaic Hivemind.
"Such a pain," she mused.
She had never wanted to oversee this selection in the first place. The paperwork was outrageous, the hurdles dragged on for days at a time, and despite all these efforts, few of the participants were expected to make it through the Iudicium anyway.
Unfortunately, they were quite shorthanded, and nothing less of a Warden could handle this unhinged aggregation without it devolving into an all-out massacre.
Well, in truth, it didn't stray far from there, even with her presence.
"Ahh, I want to go back home and have a bath."
"Groaning already, Sidonia?" A voice sprang next to her, sounding nothing like her assistants.
