Chereads / Three Shades of the Rogue Luna / Chapter 3 - Shocking Revelation

Chapter 3 - Shocking Revelation

I turned my head backward, surprised by the voice that had spoken to me. I saw a distinguished look of a middle-aged man in his forties.

His clothing style was professional and refined, with a tailored suit that fit him perfectly. I could see the confidence and maturity in his eyes, and I knew that he was a man who had seen and experienced much in his life.

There were four security guards also, standing at the entrance of the suite.

I didn't recognize any of the people in the room, including the man who spoke to me. But I caught on to their scents. They were all rogue werewolves.

My heart began pounding as I tried to back away from them. I was afraid they were going to kill me, that this was some kind of trap.

I'm just twenty-four, and I don't want to die yet without having someone to call my mate.

"Please, don't kill me," I pleaded while rubbing my both palms against each other.

But the man who had spoken to me held up his hands, telling me to relax. "We meant no harm, Naya, be calm. We are not here to hurt you."

I gazed at him in surprise. "Really?" My voice was slightly above a whisper.

"Yes... We've been waiting for you all these years," he said. "We have something important to tell you."

I looked at him skeptically, not sure if I could trust him. But something in his tone made me pause.

"What is it?" I asked, my voice shaking.

"It's about your parents," he paused.

I was stunned and stared intently into his eyes. "What about them?"

"Your parents didn't just die of an accident, they were brutally murdered, which turned you into a lone wolf."

I froze. My eyes took in more light than I imagined. I was terrified by the news, my mind reeling.

I couldn't believe it. I had always thought that my parents had died in a car accident, a tragic but random event. But now, to find out that they were murdered was almost too much to bear.

Now, suddenly, I just found out the truth.

"Why do I need to believe you? I don't even know you all. Give me evidence that my parents were truly murdered." I said firmly.

He sized me up with his eyes for a moment and continued. "To get the evidence, our boss would like to work with you in avenging your parents' deaths and bringing their killer to justice."

"Your boss?" I was surprised. "Who is that?"

"Someone you will get to know soon enough once you are ready to work with us."

"Hmm," I let out a soft grunt, unsure if I should believe him. "But, why does your boss want to help someone like me?"

"With time, you will get answers to all your questions."

"But why are you telling me all this?" I asked, still not sure if I could trust them.

The man sighed heavily as if he had been expecting this question. "Because you're one of us," he said. "You're a rogue, like us. And we look after our own."

I didn't know what to say. I had never really thought of myself as a rogue before until recently, even if I knew I was one. But I supposed that was what I was now.

"And what do I have to do?" I asked, feeling a glimmer of hope for the first time in a long time.

The man smiled grimly. "We'll train you," he replied. "We'll teach you everything you need to know. And then, when the time is right, we'll take down those who killed your parents."

I nodded, feeling a sense of determination growing inside of me. I didn't know if I could trust these people, but I knew that I had to try. For my parents. For myself.

"Okay," I said. "Let's do this."

The man nodded, his expression serious. "Good. But first, we need to make sure you're safe."

He motioned to the security guards who had been standing silently in the background. "We'll escort you to a safe location, where you can rest and begin your training."

I hesitated for a moment, still unsure about all of this. But then I thought of my parents, and the anger and pain that had been simmering inside of me for so long after my rejection.

I knew I couldn't just sit back and do nothing. I had to take action. This could be an opportunity to take down Alpha Orion as well.

"Okay," I said again, more firmly this time. "Let's go."

The security guards surrounded me, leading me out of the hotel room and down a series of corridors. I could feel their eyes on me, watching my every move.

But as we walked, I began to feel a sense of calm. I felt like I was taking control of my life for the first time.

We reached a door at the end of the hallway, and one of the guards opened it for me. Inside, there was a small room with a bed and a table.

"You'll be safe here," the man said. "We'll bring you food and water, and someone will be with you at all times during your training."

"Someone? Who?" I was shocked.

"A rogue who wants to seek revenge for his parent's unjustly deaths," he responded. "You both need to work together."

I nodded, feeling relief that I didn't have to face this alone.

As the security guards left the room, I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes. In weeks, I slept soundly, my dreams filled with visions of the revenge I would soon exact on my parents' killers.

When I woke up, I was surprised to find a plate of food and a bottle of water on the table next to me. I sat up and looked around, realizing that someone had been in the room with me while I slept.

I felt a twinge of unease, but then I remembered the man's promise to keep me safe. I picked up the plate and began to eat, my hunger getting the better of me.

As I ate, I began to think about the man's offer to help me avenge my parents. It sounded too good to be true, but something in me told me that I should not trust him fully.

I followed my instincts to prepare my mind for whatever and see where everything would eventually end.

After finishing my meal, I sat down at the table and waited for someone to come and get me. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew that I was ready for whatever was to come.

Several hours passed before the door finally opened and the man walked in. He looked at me, his eyes searching for any sign of weakness.

"You're ready?" he asked.

"Yes sir!" I nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over me.

"Good, and just call me Luigi instead of sir," he said. "We have a lot of work to do on you. But for now, just focus on your training. We are about to embark on a dangerous journey."

I only nodded my head in approval of what he just said, and he began to explain what would be required of me. I listened intently, my mind focused on the task ahead.

I knew that this was only the beginning of a long journey, but I was ready for whatever lay ahead.

With Mr Luigi's boss's help, I would find the strength to avenge my parent's deaths and destroy Alpha Orion just as he did to me...
