It was mid afternoon, but the sky, cloudy.
Rain poured down the streets of Seoul heavily as Nelly stood straight in the rain, letting it flow from the crown of her head to her toes.
Her eyes were bleary and her lips were puckering and she was shivering. But why do she care?. She'd just caught her boyfriend bedding another woman. This was not the first neither was it going to be the last cause she had caught him on several occasions with different women , but what hurt so much was that it was not just any woman, but.... but.... she caught her boyfriend in bed with her best friend. BEST FRIEND!!!
"I hate you.". she screamed loudly as she broke into tears again, falling on her knees. She did not fear getting a cold, she just got to let out her vigour." I ha.... hate you". she said admist her cries .
The yellow gown she was putting on had clung so much to her skin as she hugged her knees, making her short bang cover her face.
She remained in that position for quite a while but she'd stopped crying and all that could be heard from her was her sniffing in the liquid substance pouring out her nose.
Suddenly, a pitch black SUV pulled along the side walk she was crouching on. A masculine figure hastily came down with a black umbrella above his head. He appeared more in a haste as he saw that Nelly was there. Her head was still bent and unaware of the figure that had just arrived. Apparently, she heard the engine of a car stop where she was but she didn't want to know who it was.
The man took his arm that held the umbrella over Nelly's head and when she noticed that the rain could no longer reach her head. She raised her head and she got to know that the man beside her was the same one she felt like killing so much, over and over. She so much vulgar towards him and the stupid fool had a smile on his lips.
" what are you doing, babe?.. I've been searching for you and.....". The man trailed on when Nelly shot him a deadly glare.
" are you just going to pretend like nothing happened?". Nelly asked him as she stood up. She didn't want to fall for his charms this time around. His most especially coaxing and cool voice, that was what she hated the most. She always gave in to him whenever he speaks to her like that. He got the skills to change her mind but that was not going to work on her this time around.
" Nelly, I can explain...". he dropped the umbrella and placed his arms on her shoulders. Now, he knew that she was serious this time.
" shut the f**k up, you dick!". Nelly cursed at him as she yanked his arms off her shoulders. She continued, " explain what exactly, huh?.....tell me Jing! that you were in bed with Juan.... no, you've got to tell me". She grabbed onto the collars of his dress, shaking him unceremoniously.
Jing was startled.
" I am sorry". he said those three words in a deep, husky voice. He felt..... guilty and dirty for what he did. And this was the first time he was having this feeling. or maybe it was because he was seeing her cry and this was the first time he was actually seeing her cry.
Nelly could not hold back her tears any longer, she broke into another round of cry and her body crushed into his.
She was weak and tired. And hearing him say what he just said was...
" please don't cry, Nelly. I'm sincerely sorry for what I did. I know I have no right to be standing here with you right now, but I came here to apologize to you ".Jing lovingly stroked her hair with gentility and she went quiet.He let out a deep sigh. Thankfully, she stopped, that was a progress. Now, all he had to do was make her understand why he actually did what he did. Suddenly, a vivid memory of when she stepped into the room and saw him kissing Juan flew across his mind and her face, her eyes, they looked extremely hurt. He regretted doing such a thing to her.
" let's break up". The words came like a bomb blast to him and his eyes widened. His suddenly became numb . He wondered whether she truly meant it. His hands moving simultaneously on her head stopped. He shifted her away from his embrace to have a clear view of her expression and she looked damn serious. she'd stopped crying but her eyes were bleary red and swollen.
" you don't mean it, don't you?". he asked with a brow raised. He didn't want to accept what she had just uttered. They had been in a relationship for two years and she wants to pour it down the
drain. He wasn't gonna let that. Wait why?..... he was at fault here and he totally understand what she was driving at. She was obviously hurt and she does not want to get hurt anymore that is why she's doing this.
" I mean it, Jing. it's better we break up. I'm sick and tired of you hurting me over and over again and it's time for me to let go". she spoke with bitterness and Jing could feel it. She stepped a little away from him .
"are you really sure..." Jing was about to ask when Nelly butt in.
" I'm sure, Jing. There's nothing else I'm sure of than this". Even if she was being fallacious, she'd to do this. " you know this isn't the first time I'm seeing you with another woman, but I always push it away because I loved you and thought you would change even if you didn't....buh..at least, you could have thought of my feelings before you did such thing with Juan. It's hurting, Jing. it hurts so much".
Jing stared at her as she spoke. He could see, no feel her pain. He watched her as she spoke with utter distaste. He saw how she was shivering in the cold but the rain had stopped, they were drenched. Her lips were shaking and her teeth were also. Her arms were hugging her body.
He stepped closer to her a bit and smiled. " If that's what you want, I'll do just it. I am fully aware of the fact that I have hurt you countless times but that doesn't mean I don't love you.... ". He shoved his both hands into the side pockets of his pants and moved back.
He didn't say anything again but only turned and walked back to his car. He looked like he was getting something from the backseat.He went back to her and covered her with a blue velvet.
" you might catch a cold, come let me drop you off at home.." he said.
Nelly: " _".
why was he still being nice towards her?. In the past, he always showed her intense love and care, that was what she loved bout him. Presently, they had just broken up. She expected him to be sullen but it appeared as though he still wanted to have this final moment with her. And truly, she was cold . She'd stayed under the rain for quite a while and she glanced at him. His clothes too were wet but he did not seem affected by it.
Jing took hold of her right hand, making her stare at him in awe. He dragged her with him towards his car. Opening the door to the copilot's seat, he spoke again.
" I hope you're okay with that?" he asked with one of his perfectly arched brow raised and Nelly nodded in response.
He gestured her to get in, she did. walking to the other side of the car, he opened the door and entered.
The car engine started and it began to move. It was utterly quiet in the car and Nelly could not help but play with her fingers.
