He sat close to the fireplace drinking. It was time for the show. It's always drama with her, and that's what he loves about her. She had chosen him over and over for all those years, it was time for her to see him, and by the gods, he would make her choose right this time. He laughed cynically, dropped his cup and walked towards the window.
Yes! She has awakened and will see just like he had thought her to before he comes to her and steals her from him. He can feel her in him just like she could feel him. He cursed under his breath. She was supposed to merge with him, he had all the power she could want. But, she had chosen the one without and he would make her see his strength.
He will make her forget what and who he was. There will be nothing left for her to see but he and they will rule just like they should. Her sisters and brothers will serve just like they should, and he who steals her will bow to his dominance in fear.
Ayooni stretched her aching body in front of her tent. Last night has been too much for them all. She usually was composed herself, but Yemi had been poking at her wounds constantly making her lose control of her emotions, she admits he was right about some of the things he said and she could understand to a point why he did what he did still, that doesn't give him the right to poke at her that way. She has harnessed her powers and awakened the rest of them in the process. still, she's yet to get the hang of it.
She was supposed to practice with Yemi. But still, she could not bring herself to let go of their spoken words last night and she's been bitchy about it. So what! Everyone's got a right to be bitchy at some point.
Her mood dampened when she saw Yemi walking towards her. He had seen her gestures and could tell she was still annoyed by what happened last night, but they had no time to settle her issue, they had work to do and there could be no progress without her. He walked up to her ignoring the annoyance that passed through her face. Hi there, he said with a cheerful smile but she turned around without answering.
Don't you think you acting like a child? He asked. Acting like a child? She turned and looked straight at him, was I supposed to be smiling at you after you put me under the bus like nothing was wrong? You had no right to point at the kind of guys I dated nor the right to open the wound I have tried to bury. For five years, you have watched enough for you to know that was something you shouldn't have talked about but you couldn't keep your god-forsaking mouth shut.
Yemi stared at her fascinated and wondered where this spark was when that jerk threw her over. If you are looking for an apology, you will get none, you opened mine first when you mentioned her, you knew what went wrong but you had to mention her name and throw it to my face like it was nothing, and you were acting like a child yesterday and now acting like a spoilt child today. It's been two years since you parted ways with him and you have stopped yourself from grieving or getting angry and that is getting in the way of what we are doing.
I know you can feel the ominous presence just like I do, you heard his thoughts just like I did, and you know as much as I did that we need to find the body so we can do the passing as soon as possible. We don't have time to listen to your whining about opening up an old wound, if those people in the board room aren't important enough for you to find the answers we sought before he closed in on us they do to me, so stop with your self-pity and find a way to make this work because with or without you I will, he left her there to stew.
