* Raon POV *
While I slowly opened my eyes a wave of nostalgia hit me. The aroma of freshly baked cookies was in the air. The soft sound of the radio playing. While I just sat there stiff as a rock. I heard the voice of someone I thought had died years ago.
"What's wrong Raon?"
"Huh! N-nothings wrong."
"Then why are you crying?"
"Huh? I-I'm crying?"
"Geez! Your just like your grandpa always trying hide your feelings."
"Hehe! Yeah I guess we are alike."
"What a bright smile. I believe this deserves a cookie."
"Really?"
"Yes, let's go and get one."
"Okay!"
That's when this beautiful illusion broke.
Next thing I know I am inside a dark cave. With a distinct feeling of blood on my face. While I look around in a daze a dagger stabs toward my neck. Luckily right before it connects I break out of my daze. I use my hand to block the dagger as it goes right through my hand. While I get a good look at my attacker. My hand still swiftly went for his neck. While he narrowly dodged me, I am able to connect a kick to his stomach. Unexpectedly he starts to yell,
"Who are you?!"
"That's my line?! You went for my throat!"
"Well you just appeared out of no where! Of course I would go for the kill!"
"Well let's talk it out. For starters, Do you know where I am?"
"…This is the village graveyard."
"Village? What village?"
"The Village of the Ancients. The last of the Ancient Bloodline of the human race are all gathered in this village."
"Hmm. I see, why are their so few ancient humans?"
"T-this I can't tell you. Please just surrender peacefully."
"… Alright then."
"Huh? R-really?"
"Mhm."
While this puts me in a bad decision, it helps me get closer to the village. I should be able to find out more information on my Ancient Human bloodline. While he was still suspicious of me. He didn't do anything other than escort me to where I will be imprisoned until further notice. It was a normal looking cell with iron bars and such. After I willingly walked inside he locked the cell then left. I was stuck inside the cell for a couple of hours until he came back with an elderly man. The elderly man was deathly pale and needed a walking stick for support. He looked to be holding something like a rock. While they just stood there for a couple of minutes. Then the rock he was holding seemed to glow. While the old man seemed to be in shock. A relieved smile bloomed on his face and a refreshed laugh escaped his mouth.
"Ahahaha! Maybe! Just maybe!"
"S-sir!?"
"Haha! It's nothing, let the boy out."
"Yes, sir!"
While still confused he unlocked the cell. I had a feeling this might happen when I heard it was an Ancient Human village.
"Haha! To think such a talented seed almost escaped us."
"I'm sorry for my incompetence, however I don't quite understand sir."
"He's just like us, just even more extraordinary."
"How is he even more extraordinary sir?"
"His bloodline has a strong base of Ancient Human while also supporting the bloodlines of the dragons and phoenixes."
"Phoenix? That actually explains a lot sir."
"Huh? What do you mean Daniel?"
"Well I could have sworn he was dead when I first found him."
"Wait!? Your telling me I was dead when you found me?"
"Well yeah, at first when you started to move I assumed I was being ambushed."
"Haha to think you've already unlocked the Phoenix bloodline to such a degree!"
"Well let's get you into some new clothes and I should probably give you an explanation."
After the elderly man said this, I noticed that my clothes were torn, bloodied, and dirtied. I just nod and we left the building where I was in. That was when i finally got a good look at the village. It was built on a beautiful flat area with a waterfall in the distance. The buildings looked to be made from some unknown material and glistened in the sunlight. The buildings looked to have been made in a certain way that gave the buildings a sense of mystery and protection. I just stared in a trance at the buildings when I was pulled back to reality.
"It seems like you've noticed it."
"Noticed what?"
"The building were arranged in a way to form as an array. An array called "Curtain of Humanity" it serves as a protective barrier and also hides the village away from others."
"What is the village hiding from? If you don't mind me asking."
"It's alright, we're not hiding. We're secluding ourselves. This Village has the authority to command any human settlement and we also have the strongest strength of any human settlement."
"Are you sure? The person I fought didn't seem all that special?"
"H-hey! I will have you know I am special and have been blessed with great talent."
"Well your not wrong about that, Daniel isn't much compared to the other people in the village."
"V-village chief!?"
"While I am getting old I can proudly say I have reached the 6th Tier. Sadly with my old age I have regressed into the 3rd Tier."
"It's okay sir, it's something that would have happened. Nothing can survive the erosion of time."
"Maybe Daniel, however a Phoenix's body can survive the erosion of time. That what makes them so great. They are the only species that can ignore the constraints of time."
While Daniel and the Village Chief were talking we finally arrived at the biggest building in the village. The Village Chief seemed to notice this and started to turn his attention to me.
"Ah! Silly me I forgot to ask. What is your name young man?"
"My name is Raon, Raon White."
"Well Raon I welcome you to my home. Inside I would like to have a little discussion about some things. After we're done with that, you may continue to live here and use its facilities."
"Then I thank you for your hospitality Village Chief."
