Chereads / A World of Monster Girls / Chapter 3 - Chapter Three

Chapter 3 - Chapter Three

After fiddling with the gun for a bit, I decided to finally leave this wretched room. Surprisingly, or perhaps not, the monster decided to follow behind me. Despite it not being necessarily dangerous, I still kept glancing at it from time to time, it's still a monster, a monster that wants my precious- uh...

I poke my head out of the door to check the surroundings. It was a large hallway, its width alone being at least seven meters. It was shockingly clean, bearing the few bloodstains in the ground leading to this room, no doubt the blood of the now-dead scientist.

I never realized how large the hallway was compared to the game. Well, the game was a 2D RPG game, so I suppose that's to be expected. The hallway was empty, and while these monsters do infest this floor, the floor itself was shockingly large even in-game. They shouldn't be in this area of the floor, hopefully.

There was another room not far away from this one. To be completely truthful with you, I don't remember every single detail about the game, so I'm not exactly sure if there are going to be enemies there or an item.

Although my game knowledge differs a bit from the reality of this game, there's no doubt some things are still there. The gun, for example, or the fact that this place was infested with dog-like monsters, albeit they are different.

I don't want to risk it, but I have to get some ammunition or something of the sort. Seven bullets won't be enough for this place, and I'm not sure if the other monster girls will be like this dog one here.

That reminds me, I should probably name her, It's getting a bit tedious to just call her 'Dog-like monster' or 'Dog monster'.

"Hey," I called out and glanced at her, to which she responded by tilting her head, her tongue still out like a dog.

"Do you have a name?"

"Awoo... Woof! Woof!"

I genuinely can't tell if that's a yes or a no. At first, she seemed depressed, then joyful the moment after.

I have to think of a name, even if it's temporary. Hell, the fact that I'm thinking about giving her a name despite her trying to violate me every now and then is surprising by itself. I should be trying to kill it, not befriend it!

"Let's see..." I thought about it for a moment, "How about Happy?"

"WOOF?!"

You don't like it, got it. At least her voice wasn't loud enough for other monsters to hear, not sure if she did that intentionally. Then what about...

"Chica? It sounds nice, doesn't it?"

"WOOF!"

"Alright, calm down, Christ almighty."

I kept looking at her face while thinking of names. She doesn't like dog-names, that's for sure. So I just have to think of a name that fits her face.

This was harder than I thought. Should I just stick with dog monster? No, come on let's think.

"How about..." I trailed off, "Eve?" It doesn't fit her at all, to be truthful with you. I just came up with it on the spot.

"Awoo!" Her smile widened with her tongue out, which was both equally cute and horrifying considering how large her mouth can get.

"Eve it is, then." At least that's over with. "Ryu." I put my hand towards her, only to remember that she can't shake my hand properly shake my hand. Bear with me, my mind is still in shambles, despite how much I try to sound calm.

Just as I was about to take back my hand, she put her hand- paw, in mine, and shook it, her tongue still out.

Didn't really expect that, but I'll take it.

Eve. It was a simple name, much better than before, at least.

Eventually, we reached the other room, the sign above it flaking. The only thing I can read about it is 'Rest Ar-', everything else was gone to the passage of time. But I can get the gist of the room from those words alone.

Nervously, I opened the door slightly and poked my head through the door.

Oh wow, the place looked cozy, if you were feeling charitable, extremely cramped if not. It was relatively clean, and thankfully, there were no bloodstains around here. There were a few beds, as well, but a disgusting amount of bookshelves as well. I suppose it isn't bad, though, I could read a few to know what the hell is going on. My game knowledge isn't exactly that up to date, if that wasn't obvious already.

After confirming that it was safe, I entered the room along with Eve and locked the door so nothing can come here. It was relatively normal, compared to the previous room, at least. There was a small kitchen, a TV, and even a coffee machine.

I checked the coffee machine to see if it works, and sure enough, it does. There was electricity, after all.

Perhaps it was a bit odd for me to make a coffee at a time like this when I could very well die at any moment, but I'm exhausted right now, believe it or not. It was the middle of the night when I tried to play the game again, after all.

Sleeping is not an option, no way. That's just asking to get violated.

I checked the cabinets for the ingredients, as well as other things.

After finally getting everything done, I turned on the coffee machine while my finger kept on the power button. I was a bit nervous that it might make too much noise, but thankfully, it was quite silent.

Eve kept looking at it with curiosity, and occasionally at my crotch, but she didn't try anything except for rubbing her head against it, to which I responded by shoving her off.

...

"Ah~" I let out a satisfied sigh as I gulped a mouthful of coffee. I never felt so happy drinking a cup of bitter coffee. I turned my attention towards Eve. She was sitting like a dog, tilting her head at me.

"You won't like it."

"Awo!"

"You won't."

"AWO!"

Ah, why am I even bothering myself? The curiosity will kill the cat. Or dog. I gave her another cup of coffee and put it on the floor in front of her.

"Woof!"

"What?"

"WOOF!"

She gave me a slightly disappointed look before gazing at the table in the kitchen. Then, she went towards it and managed somehow to sit on a chair with her front paws on the table.

Oh, really now?

I let out a sigh, and put the new cup of coffee on the table, in front of her. Seemingly pleased, I assume, due to the wagging of her tail, she sniffed the coffee, and gave it a quick lick.

Unsurprisingly, her face slightly contorted in disgust as she looked at me with tear-filled eyes, to which I simply responded by shrugging.

"Told you."

I continued to drink my coffee. What am I going to do with her? I can't just keep her, can I?

If she continues like this, then it isn't much of a problem, but knowing how monsters act in the game, I'm afraid she might just snap in a moment and violate me.

Oh well, I have a gun. But... Would I be able to shoot her? Despite her nature, she isn't that forceful and is rather playful.

No- I had only known her for an hour or so, if there was no other option, I have to put her down if she gets too aggressive.

I glanced at her as she continued to lick the coffee with her tear-filled eyes.

...Why the hell are you drinking it if you hate it so much?

With a hand over my face, I sighed once more. I probably sighed today way more than I did in an entire month. I went to the fridge, to check its content, and sure enough, there was whole milk in there, as well as some other things.

After checking that it wasn't expired, I brought the ingredients to her as well as a spoon. She looked at me with surprise, as I began to put the ingredients in the coffee.

"There, try it now." She sniffed the coffee once more and took a lick. It was still a bit bitter, but still more flavorful than before. At least she didn't seem on the verge of crying this time.

When did I become such a softy? Or was I always like that, or maybe, is it because she's hot? I don't like either of those hypotheses.

She drank it at an alarming rate compared to before and managed to finish it before I did.

"Woof!"

"I'm not giving you another."

"WOOF!"

"No."

"Awoo..."

You looked like on the verge of puking, why the hell would you want another one? Also, I'm not an expert at monster biology, but I don't think you should be drinking this much coffee. The cup itself was larger than normal.

While she kept looking at me pitifully, I went to one of the bookshelves and checked the books. Most of them didn't seem important, but one of them particularly caught my eye.

I took the book out, and checked its title again.

"Magic Bullets, and Monster's weak points."

… What the hell is this? There were no magical bullets in the game.
