Chapter 7 - Ernest Cemetery Shaman (2)

Where did you hear that?" Veibel asked coldly.

This matter was not something that an ordinary follower of the Court of The Dead's teachings should know. Only people on the same level as Shamans like him could know about this.

Inheriting the legacy of the dead Magicians of the Court of The Dead was something extremely sacred. Inheriting them meant that all of their legacies would be given to the person who succeeded.

The Court of The Death followed the teaching that death was the end of all living things. Death was something sacred and everyone who walked this path had to respect death. Therefore, almost all magic related to spirits and souls, as well as necromancy were only possessed by the Court of the Dead.

No outsiders dared to touch this field because they would be hunted down by the shamans and followers of the Court of the Dead. Since everything that involved death was held by the Court of The Dead, one of their teachings was respect for the dead.

Even when their lives end, everyone must have regrets and for magicians, their biggest regret is not having someone to pass on their knowledge.

Ivo knew about this because he once created a character to play as a Shaman and joined the Court of The Death. He was very familiar with their teachings and knew a lot of information about the Court of the Death because his position was quite high while playing Destiny.

"Ah, I apologize for my rudeness. I was born in the kingdom and had the opportunity to visit the Land of The Dead. I…" Ivo held back his words for a moment as he looked at the dark gaze coming from Veibel's eyes.

If it's like this, I might be able to get this person's help. Ivo smiled in his heart.

"I heard this from a shaman wearing white clothes. The shaman closed his eyes while carrying a black coffin on his back. When I visited the Land of The Dead, I had the opportunity to hear a sermon he gave once."

Veibel who heard this stiffened. His eyes trembled violently when he heard Ivo's words. With his hands shaking violently, he held Ivo's hand and touched it to his forehead.

"Y-you… you met the white-robed Shaman… with a black coffin on his back… This… this…" Veibel couldn't finish his words.

"You met him… And I…"

He immediately got up from the bench and knelt down towards Ivo. His eyes were filled with madness and burning feelings when he saw Ivo. He held his hand tightly, not wanting to let go even for a moment.

"Really… I was so blind. I really didn't recognize someone who had even attended his sermon. Really, I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Veibel said while shedding tears. Strong sadness could be felt in his body.

"Can I listen to the Sermon you heard that time?"

With a smile on his face, Ivo nodded. "Of course. It would be an honor for me to be able to convey what the Shaman said to you."

Ivo began to explain and convey the words he had put together in his own head. Although it was a little difficult because it had been so long since he had done something like this, he had been a Shaman.

However, it wasn't something that could be said to be fun because the shaman of the Court of The Dead was trapped in the cemetery where the shamans lived. Ivo had only done it once during the game and never wanted to repeat being a shaman.

He was able to find out a lot of information about the Court of The Dead. Especially when he investigated various influential people and the structure of the organization.

'The result was better than I expected. I haven't done something like this for a long time while playing as a shaman, but it seems like I didn't need to. '

Ivo looked at Veibel who was shedding tears of emotion and the sadness he showed had changed into immeasurable happiness. He didn't doubt the words Ivo said at all because all of that was something that the white-robed Shaman Ivo mentioned.

He knew who it was, even though he had never seen him in person, the distinctive style of the Sermon that the person spoke really touched the hearts of worshippers like him.

As a believer in the teachings of death, the man in front of him was definitely someone like him. Although he was very young, he had the good fortune to come to the Land of the Dead and meet that person.

The Shamans could only see the silhouette of that person hidden behind a layer of impenetrable cloth. Even so, that person still gave sermons to the lucky followers.

Ah… I'm jealous. I'm really jealous.

What a shame, I've sworn not to leave this place. As a shaman, it's my duty to guard this cemetery.

Veibel had already erased the suspicion he had towards Ivo. What replaced those cold eyes was a burning gaze filled with endless madness.

Was it that easy?

No. It couldn't be. This was probably because Ivo had so accurately repeated the Sermon he had heard while playing the game. The person Veibel was referring to, the white-robed Shaman with the coffin on his back, Ivo had already met him and been near him for a while.

He already knew what that person's voice was like, what he looked like, and even the sermon he delivered to the visitors of the Land of the Dead.

If it had been anyone else, their heads would have flown off after saying a single sentence.

"My friend…" Veibel stood up and raised his hand. A Staff that looked like an old tree branch appeared in his hand.

Casually, Veibel stomped the Staff onto the ground. A horse made of black bones rose from the ground and knelt down to Veibel.

"For my rudeness, I apologize. I won't ask for your reasons and seek your intentions anymore, so just tell me what you need and I will help you get it."

With a smile, Ivo stood up and knelt down to Veibel.

"Oh, Shamans who guard this Cemetery, I know that you have a duty to uphold the honor of all those who have died. This may not be following my original intention, but I heard a terrible rumor that made me angry."

"Rumor?"

"That's right." Ivo nodded and continued his words. "In an abandoned mansion in this city, someone… someone transgressed their death."

"What!!!" After hearing that, Veibel screamed so loudly. Instantly, the atmosphere of this cemetery became very quiet. The cries of people that could previously be heard now disappeared.

No one dared to make a sound. Even Ivo could only hold his breath and endure the terrifying pressure of the death energy he was emitting.

Transgressing death, it meant that they rejected their death and turned themselves intentionally into something like the Undead. They could be said to be dead, but still held their bodies in the world of the living and refused the peace of death.

And those who violated death, the Court of the Dead would chase after them even if they were at the ends of the earth.

Even if it was just a rumor, they didn't care. There wasn't a single person in this world who transgressed death that would be allowed to remain in this world.

Looking at Veibel who was filled with anger, the corners of Ivo's mouth slightly lifted. He didn't want to do this because he didn't want to disturb the others who were chasing after the treasures and inheritance owned by the Zombies in the old mansion in Ernest City.

But since he was determined to chase after the treasures and gold coins in Ernest City, Ivo didn't have the slightest hesitation.

I could almost taste the taste of the meat soup he had this afternoon. Maybe I could order something like the lasagna and special meat sauce that the inn provided.

Ah… the taste of that food would definitely be amazing. I can't wait for it.

Unknowingly, he was already smiling widely. Veibel seemed to have misunderstood as he nodded as if to say 'I will take care of it'.

"Please accept this, my friend. With this, you can take the inheritance with this token. You will not have any trouble since you hold my authority. Take whatever you want from the magician's inheritance. As long as you hold the token, the magician's Will will not dare to touch you."

Without saying anything else, Veibel mounted the horse and left Ivo with a black token in his hand.

With every step the horse took, there was a trail of death energy that carried a strange mist under the sunlight.

Shamans were not supposed to leave the cemetery where they lived. But in a situation like this, they had permission to do whatever they wanted.

"He will probably lose. Although Veibel can be said to be quite a powerful Shaman, but facing Raven Astrea, he has no chance of winning." Ivo muttered silently.

If I recall, didn't I already meet that person? He was the one who woke me up when I first came here.

"Well, that's his problem now. Good luck, Raven"
