Chapter 3 - A Change In Season

March 3rd, 3240

Emperor had been removed from the throne, Clyde and Crystal took the throne after OperationHe has retreated with his Death Cult and now is going on an all out assault in order to take back control of the Steam Empire. The removal of his power was due to his corruption, which I did warn him about upon my discovery of how he treats his subjects, which he has hidden until now. On one hand I'm happy that there isn't any more corrupt government but on the other hand, I do feel bad for Emperor. He seems so nice as a person but is actually terrible at leading a nation under severe pressure. I know that the stress has gotten to him, as there was a dark autumn outside instead of the usual spring. I used to have the windows open to let the outside air track inside, but now I have them closed to keep out the leaves. I find myself writing more and more to try to take my mind off of Emperor. From morning all the way to nighttime, I was constantly writing. It was only till 12 did he ever enter the realm as the sound of the door opening informed me of his arrival.

"So, how was life today?"

"Terrible, the Death Cult forces lost a confrontation with the Steam Empire ... We had the upper hand until Clyde and Crystal intercepted us."

He crash landed on the sofa with a tired expression. I followed and sat next to him.

"That's sad ... how many lives were lost?"

"Countless ... our units are still gathering data upon this matter."

"Is there still time to revert things? You don't have to fight a war unless it is necessary."

"It's a hundred percent necessary. If I was to surrender, I'm sure they would have been executed."

"Please, just try. Express yourself, it'll be fine."

"Not a possibility, hack I'll do if I even attempt it!"

"Hey, calm down, it was just a suggestion, don't take it so seriously."

I quickly turned around and looked outside the window. The dark autumn had turned into a bright wildfire. Out of instinct, I grabbed him, and hugged him tightly.

"Look, Emperor, you're going to be fine, just calm down. No matter what happens in the physical world, you'll at least have me."

I was surprised about the words that even came out of my own mouth, and even more on my actions... This feeling, it's new. I suddenly began patting Emperor's head, once again surprising myself.

"Why are you doing this Alisa, I don't need someone to comfort me. I'm an emperor, I'm supposed to be a great leader."

"Shush..."

"What is this modern-fantasy-like romance! It's way too early."

"Just something to take your mind off of. I thought this would be something that you would be used to?"

"No, not at all. You'll be surprised. I'm not the type to have any... how do I phrase this... I don't use people to satisfy my pleasure needs. I just play a crap ton of games when I'm not busy. Anyways, it looks like I'm about to start dematerializing at any point, so I'll talk to you later/"

"Mhm, make sure you close the door on your way out."

"Got it."

The door closed and I was left alone again. As I was about to get up to check out the gaming console, a warm breeze swept through the house. I looked towards the windows to find that a singular window had been propped open. The dark autumn had become a sunny one. I do hope that it stays this way.
