Lyra and Ryne attacked the beast simultaneously, both moving faster than they were before.
Lyra, who was moving the fastest was using a water-coated dagger to slice through the beast and overpower its regenerating properties. As she moved, her brown eyes glowed an electric blue color each time she tapped into her abundant mana supply.
She closed in one last time when—suddenly, a beam of purple-colored flames was shot from the beast's mouth, hitting her and throwing her a few yards away from it. Being a water user gave her a strong heat-resistant body. Hence, the flames only burnt parts of her uniform; only her coat had been destroyed and half of her white shirt remained. Parts of her arms had turned black and blood now trickled down from the side of her head after taking in the attack.
Lyra then patted away the smoke coming from her shirt, appearing mostly unscratched by snarler's flames.
