"Ashbourne, do know about the gods?"
Asked a woman as she caressed the silver-haired boy's hair. He was resting on her lap enjoying the peace his mother's warm hands brought him. Her voice was already smoothing to his ears, and as she continued to caress his smooth hair, he wished this moment could last any longer.
"No," the boy answered with a faint tone followed by a yawn while staring at the wax candle that lit up the barn-like room with a single bed made from hay that they shared. He was sleepy.
"Well, the gods are the entities that created this realm. They are mighty enough to destroy anything that comes their way," his mother explained.
"That's terrifying…"
She loomed over him, revealing her silver hair and jade-green eyes, and said, "Yes it is. But if anything ever happens to me, never let the gods decide your fate. You're my son, choose your own path."
Arthur unknowingly shed a tear from his left eye once a memory from his past life resurfaced.
