Walking down a street was a mud-like color haired, abyssal black eyed young man. He looked no older than 17 years of age, and he looked to be about 6'1 tall. He was also wearing a bandage around his left eye. He seemed to be annoyed with someone or something.
"Stupid Maria. How the hell could she make the knights and not me? She's just somewhat good at fighting with a sword, but she has nearly negative magic talent. I have all this magic and I could learn to use a sword. Yet I still get rejected. It's such bullshit," the young man said as he kicked a rock down a street while he walked. "Erebus!" a young girl called out to the young man. Erebus quickly turned around and his face lit up and turned a bit red.
"Oh, Eleni! Hey!" Eleni threw her arms around Erebus and he quickly backed off for a minute. "Ugh, your hands are wet. You got my back all wet."
Eleni's smile quickly faded and she immediately wiped her hands on her shirt. "Did you have an embarrassing moment and fall into the lake?" Erebus had mockingly said. Eleni looked up at Erebus and smiled again.
"Yeah! Haha. It was really embarrassing… Anyways, I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday! I'll see Maria later, so I'll wish her well then."
"Right, thanks. Good luck with your exams, by the way." Eleni's instinctive reply was "Thank you!" Eleni gave one last smile and ran off down the path to the exam hall. Erebus just got rid of his smile and continued to walk into town.
After a short period of time, Erebus made it into town. As always, he was greeted by shopkeepers all around. Everyone knew him because of his talent to use magic. And also his twin sister's hand-to-hand and weapon combat abilities. After walking for a little while longer, Erebus made it to the town square. The town square was the business center of town, but it also had other activities. One of the more infamous events that took place in the square were public executions.
Erebus continued walking, ignoring everyone in the square. Soon, he would hear armor clattering. "Most likely knights bringing another person to be executed," he mumbled to himself.
Erebus simply continued walking, he didn't care. He'd seen so many people be executed during his lifetime that it no longer bothered him. He just continued walking by. Even as the two people had sounded highly frightened. Their muffled screams somehow got louder as Erebus got farther away. Later on, he would realize this to be the worst decision he's made in his entire life so far.
"I guess it's about time for magic training." Erebus said coldly. If there was something he hated most on this planet, it was his magic training. Being the opposite of his sister, who is a genius in sword fighting and hand-to-hand combat, Erebus is a magic genius. He has mana levels that scale off the charts and may even be the equivalent of an S+ ranked mage.
Erebus did his usual warm up. He would just summon small ice spears and send them into his target. Next, he'd begin to summon larger ice spikes, and practice some other spells.
Eventually, Erebus would get to the most dreaded part of his training. Hand-to-hand combat and weapon training. Whenever Erebus felt like he was improving, he'd get a sharp pain in his heart. It was weird.
After nearly 3 hours of what Erebus would call boring training, he was done. Erebus just went home and laid down. He was exhausted from training and walking for a while. Erebus fell asleep.
