Chapter 3 - Chapter 02: Pasco Village - Part 2

Right after the Master's order, the two walked with their wooden swords to the center of the place surrounded by other students who made a circle to watch the combat.

Many commented and placed bets on the winner of the confrontation, the vast majority were in favor of Arthur who went to a corner drawing his sword while he remained with a distant look staring at the weapon.

Chris, on the other hand, remained excited holding the sword with both hands while facing his opponent with a wide smile on his face, placing a wooden armlet on his right arm, seeming to be ready for combat.

A few seconds after the two introduced themselves, Evans stood between the two and raised his hands, catching the attention of everyone in the dojo.

"The fight will last until one falls, you can strike at will, but when I think I should stop the fight, I will, understood?"

After speaking, the Leader looked at Chris who responded with an excited expression and nodded, then Evans looked at Arthur who was positioned holding the sword with one hand and also responded with a nod, changing his expression to a slightly more serious one.

Soon after confirming how the two were, he would raise his hand and speak.

"Attention."

Again he would stare at the two youths in their ready combat poses and then quickly lower his hand shouting.

"Begin!"

Hearing the scream, the two responded at the same time, charging forward to face their opponent.

Christopher already seemed used to that answer and as soon as he saw Arthur entering his reach, he smiled excitedly and raised his sword, cutting from top to bottom towards his opponent.

With a quick step to the side, Arthur dodged and saw a gap in Christopher's attack.

Positioning his foot pointing towards his opponent, Arthur turned his body and delivered a lunge aiming at Chris' body who could see the approaching sword from the corner of his face.

It would be a clean hit, but Chris would let go of one of his sword hands and block the swing with the arm that had the wooden bracelet.

Arthur's eyes widened with surprise and distrust, seeing his opponent's reaction, Chris smiled and then stepped forward to correct his posture, with the other hand he held the sword and launched a thrust aiming at Arthur's body.

Even though it was unusual, it was still a wooden sword and Arthur just clicked his tongue irritably, stepping back he regained his guard and blocked the thrust.

"If it was a real sword you would have lost your arm, jackass."

"If it was an iron armlet or a shield, it wouldn't have."

The answer came from Christopher who continued with a smile on his face, hearing the sentence, Arthur squinted and put his other hand on the wooden sword and forcefully pushed his opponent.

The blow made Chris retreat back, but soon he advanced again with a smile starting an exchange of heavy blows against Arthur who responded with defense and dodges, during the exchange Christopher laughed and spoke.

"Come on, Art. Let's go with everything."

Arthur was surprised by the technique that his opponent now had, but soon he smiled seeing those movements, which made Christopher widen his eyes when he saw a blow that grazed Arthur's body.

Shortly after dodging Chris's blow, Arthur stared at him with the same smile as he put his sword completely back, leaving it aside to cut horizontally, soon the blonde recognized a glow that took the sword in the form of a chaotic orange aura similar to fire.

Christopher clenched his teeth and drew back his sword, positioning it upright to protect his body, while Arthur moved the sword with the orange aura spinning his body while the weapon left an orange trail where it passed, in his mind he said.

"Let's play seriously, [Beruh Style: Split]"

The horizontal blow approached Christopher's body but before reaching the sword with violence, the movement was simple but added to the aura and violence they made a heavy blow that caused a loud and explosive sound, throwing the blonde backwards.

Christopher felt his feet leave the ground and the weight of the blow that made him grunt in pain feeling his arms heavy, the blonde soon stepped on the ground to try to stop his retreat, being dragged for a few more meters, leaving a black trace on the wooden floor dark.

Stopping the retreat brought relief to the young man who sighed, but soon he felt a shadow approaching quickly being already at his side, which made him widen his eyes looking to the side seeing only the figure of Arthur already with the sword in his hands delivering a blow to his face.

It would be a clean blow and would certainly throw or knock the blonde out, but soon Arthur felt a chill in his spine when he saw two bright yellow eyes on Christopher, who moved his body at an absurd speed and with both hands wielding the sword, he turned his body and hit the sword, making Arthur open his guard and widen his eyes in surprise.

Still on the strength of his spin, Chris moved his body using his brute strength and managed to spin once more directing the wooden sword towards Arthur's face.

Once again the blow would be clean, but Arthur managed to block holding the sword with both hands and received the violent blow.

When the swords collided, Arthur felt all the weight of the weapon and the strength of his opponent and realizing that he would give in, he retreated so as not to take all the damage and seeing a chance, Christopher struck again throwing Arthur backwards, who landed on his feet.

Shortly after landing, Arthur looked with an irritated look at Christopher who remained smiling, but now his eyes were glowing yellow while his body exuded a slight yellowish aura, seeming to be even proud.

Seeing that, Arthur shook his hand as if he felt pain from receiving the blow and spoke with a pained and at the same time irritated expression.

"Learned [Activation] didn't you? Smartass."

Right after hitting, the aura gradually left Chris's body, who remained smiling but with the yellow in his eyes decreasing and returning to a normal tone.

"I said I had something for you, besides that you used [Split], I won't take any complaints."

Chris remained smiling and listening to the answer, Arthur sighed but soon showed a smile.

"If it's going to be like this, let's go for it."

In an instant after the sentence, Arthur advanced straight towards his opponent who widened his eyes and again defended himself with the wooden sword causing the clash between the weapons.

The strength and surprise made Chris go back slightly, giving him a chance to once again position his sword behind his body, which was soon enveloped in the orange aura.

Christopher saw the danger and once again widened his eyes which started to glow yellow, revealing that he was once again using [Activation].

Having better reflexes with strength and speed, he managed to step back to regain his balance while still holding the sword, spinning it and putting it in a single hand so he could have time, slashing from top to bottom right after to clash the blows.

Christopher's sword came down violently towards Arthur's face, but something was different and Chris saw his opponent disappear from his sight leaving only an orange streak going to the side.

Chris now had no time to respond and saw Arthur at his side with his eyes shining brightly in a clear and bright orange, all he could see was the sword approaching his face at high speed, hitting him square in the cheek and throwing to the side.

The blow made Chris fly and let go of the sword, right after he fell hitting his back on the ground being dragged for a few more meters with a pained expression.

Still in the lunge pose, Arthur looked on with his eyes and an aura around his body glowing orange that gradually faded.

Right after the lights disappeared from his eyes he put the sword on his shoulders with a smile on his face while the orange aura still exhaled becoming gradually more transparent.

"I liked what I saw, but you forgot that I also know [Activation]."

Even lying there and feeling the sharp pain in his cheek Christopher heard it all, letting out only a long sigh as he sat up irritably.

Evans approached the two and raised his hands.

"Batch over, winner: Arthur."

The phrase made the young man with brown hair smile and then he spoke.

"Great, I'm going now, Dad. It was a good fight Chris, haha."

He spoke excitedly as he threw the wooden sword that fell beside the support where they were, without worrying he ran back to his worried expression as he accelerated more the pace worried about not being late.

Still inside the dojo, Chris looked at the ceiling with an irritated expression, but soon saw an outstretched hand offering help to get up, soon noticing that he was the master of the Dojo.

Chris accepted the help and got up still frustrated, after helping the lorio, Evans went to the wooden sword and put it on the support for them.

"I wish he was less talented so there were gaps to push himself more, since learning [Activation] that idiot of my son has been neglecting training, sorry for getting you involved in this Christopher."

Even as he spoke, Evans remained calm without expressing changes in his words as he looked at the half-open door left by his son, but hearing the master's sentence, Chris laughed and spoke.

"In fact he is lazy, but I don't want to limit it to talent, after all losing to that would hurt even more, maybe he just doesn't want to be a knight and wants to focus on something else..."

While listening to the young man's words, Evans continued to stare at the door, but then he crossed his arms again and spoke.

"You think that?"

The master's phrase made Christopher smile, also looking at the door as they saw Arthur walking away.
