Chapter 18 - CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Before you judge my past or my character, walk in my shoes, walk the path i have traveled, live my sorrow, my fear, my doubt and when you lived my life then you can judge me.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Azaan

I was right, today was the stressful moment I have ever had in a while, though my stress was mostly psychologically. I tried my best to overcome and suppress it but I could barely focus on anything. I let out an uneven breath and jumped into my hotel bed, spread both of my arms as well as the air conditioner was filled in the room.

My gee it's getting late…you need to change quickly" Hakim called my attention

I groaned and strolled over to the bedside drawer and collected my phone, where tons of missed calls and messages awaits me.

Gee are you wearing the black babban Riga or the grey one" kabeer asked lifting both of my ironed clothes

I guess the grey will suit me…I will go for the grey one" I responded after slightly gazing at it

And just like that the moment was spent in a mountain of gist and choosing clothes.

It felt like eternity before we arrive at the khalifa isyaku rabi'u event center Kano state. I turned around to farida, she was looking so beautiful and gorgeous, her dress fits every curve in her body, her hair was styled in a different yet amazing way…well words can't express how gorgeous she's looking you know.

Ready!?" I softly asked her fixing my gaze on her beautiful face and all she could do was nod. I warmly hold her hand and stepped out of the car, we met our friends waiting for us and we strolled over the hall together while the crowd inside were busy celebrating and snapping us.

The décor was such an amazing one, our family and friends were happy and excited to begin with, just then I spotted taheera with that ape of a guy called nurain…I don't know this feeling but I just hate the idea that she's with someone else now.

"hope you know her younger sister is your wife now" my inner voice reminded me

Agh agh …it is such a pleasure meeting such beautiful bride and groom, welcome to your very own occasion" the MC said heartily

The MC commanded for a beautiful song and the DJ played the song "perfect by Ed Sheeran"

Farida and I marched to the stage in a quality of splendor, our hands entwined with each other's, staring at each other from time to time with so much affection and adornment. We danced a bit and we were still dancing until the MC and his assistants started to arranged some kind of chairs which I later learnt that it was meant for us since we are to play some sort of interesting games before the night ended.

The MC asked me and my two best friends Hakim and kabeer to dressed a little teddy as our future babies and tie them on our backs just like a mother backing her child, and hilariously we did as he instructed while the crowd was busy laughing at us especially kabeer, who kept trying to adjust the diaper of the Teddy but refused to rectify.

Everyone was laughing at us but believe me when I say the ladies game was so much hilarious than ours don't say I exaggerated things. They were asked to tie roop to their legs and do a fashion show up, some of them were walking like ducks…am sorry to say but theirs was so hilarious to be over with.

The night ended with tons of enjoyment and special feast just like everyone single person expected.

6months later

Faridah

The sky was so light blue and peaceful, with fluffy yet smoothly clouds hanged around like white smoke of a cigar.

I exhaled a deeper sigh and wiped out that lone tear that I never noticed until he yelled out my name from the top of his lungs. I quickly adjusted and went straight to his room trembled and frightened.

I took a look around the dark room, shivering and sweating like a Christmas goat, he turned the room into a mess. The bed was in disarray with the pillows and blanket thrown to the floor along with several other iteams.

I quietly rambled to the bed and made it back neatly the way it should be and turned on the A/C so that the tobacco smoke will subsided or even went away.

This was the zillionth time that I was cleaning his room for the past few months, he either smoke here in his room or get intoxicated outside with his friends and come back home drunk and discarded.

The most annoying and disgusting thing was the sight and smell of those tints that obviously contained the cigarettes. I bended down and picked it up, physically above I wondered how someone could consume the smoke produced by something that was this thick. Yeah I know I have seen so many products of cigarettes but this was the first time I have ever seen those and even  holding it. I curiously sniffed it and was immediately taken aback by the pungent smell of tobacco.

I putted back in his bedside table hurriedly and closed it quietly but regrettably I got caught by him the moment he wide opened the bathroom door. Yes he's here standing within five Peace inches long, water dripping down his jaw as well as his hair with his face frowned like that of a farm cow.

Why are you touching those?" he enragedly asked like usual

I….i ah…I was cleaning before…y..you came out" I murmured slowly swallowing the little saliva left in my mouth

I told you to only clean my room whenever you heard me yelled out your name and now you are here spying on my stuff's" the way he slapped my head made me fall deliberately on my butt and that was all that took me to start seeking for forgiveness because no matter how much I screamed no one will hear me out talk less of saving my life.

Get out from here you stupid fool!"

I laggardly strolled over from my butt and went out of his room in a shudder feeling an emptiness within me.

Just like everyday today was boringly scary but what do I do, I actually brought this upon myself and I have to live with it for the rest of my life.

Madam are you sure you can handle oga like you always said? I am starting to feel more anxious than before oo?" Joy my maid anxiously asked

"I told you I know him better than him himself so don't exaggerate  things ..I don't like it" I warned her despite knowing well that only God can help me

"okay oo but still I would like to give you this advice…" before she even ended her so called advice I threw her a I told you to shut up glare and that's all that took her to left my sight.

I placed a hand on my forehead and held my head before sitting back heavily on the bed, I know for the past few months I looked distraught and truly horrified but luckily I never visited home since my wedding, well frankly speaking I visited home twice after my wedding but after my last visit I never tarry again and whenever I suggested that, he would either taunts me or attempt to beat the heal out of me.
