When Chu He heard about Gu Tianhao's fall from the building, her expression was complex as she looked at the servant.
"Take me there quickly."
Gu Tianhao fell from the sixth floor, coughing up blood, unconscious, with a broken arm and two ribs.
In the ambulance, doctors were treating Gu Tianhao. Chu He sat by, watching the barely alive Gu Tianhao, tears and worries all spent.
A thought crossed her mind. if Gu Tianhao died or remained unconscious, she wouldn't have to divorce him. Their daughter, Gu Mei, wouldn't have to worry about money for treatment, and she wouldn't lose everything.
"How is my husband, doctor?" she asked, "Is he in danger?"
"Madam, we still don't know," the doctor told Chu He. "The hospital is doing its best to save Mr. Gu."
Chu He didn't speak again, her clasped hands whitening at the knuckles, betraying her intense emotions.
