Chereads / TEEN WOLF: BLOODBORN / Chapter 171 - CHAPTER 167

Chapter 171 - CHAPTER 167

The fight between Tristan, Satomi and Deucalion was honestly what Tristan had expected it to be and something more at the same time.

The youthful old man was a monster in every sense of the word.

'Is this still a werewolf?'

A cold brutal realization that he had been subconsciously looking down on the werewolves around him being that he was stronger than a lot of them, even before becoming an Alpha, Primearch.

The only werewolves he had ever felt the creeping cold sensation of death were Peter and Kali, but neither of them could compare to what he was feeling from Deucalion.

Being an empath, his attunement to the emotional spectrum of loving beings was more clear and precise – and that only made it worse as the only thing he could feel from Deucalion was a deluge of malevolence that even dwarfed his own fear.

For the first time in forever, Tristan subconsciously actually decided on retreating.

Satomi caught notice of Tristan's split moment reaction the instant Deucalion's eyes turned red, and if she did then Deucalion did too.

Yet despite feeling like that, he never made any action that overtly showed it.

"Commendable, Tristan Hayes, but pointless nonetheless." Deucalion said with a low growl that made everyone's spine tingle. "Now then, how about we start slow?"

As soon as his words fell, Tristan blurred into motion, appearing right behind Derek with blood encased hands crossed against each other in a bid to block Deucalion's attempted grab but what he wasn't expecting was for Deucalion to grab him and throw him to the side with ease with greater physical strength than he could manage.

Not just Tristan alone, but everyone was shocked as they could barely follow Deucalion's movement.

Seeing Deucalion attacking Derek, Satomi forgot whatever hopeful thought she had to avoid conflict and attacked Deucalion. Her claws went straight for his throat but he avoided it by stepping back before striking a kick to Satomi's sides which she expertly avoided.

Sensing an attack from behind and the undeniable scent of oozing blood mixed with it, Deucalion promptly retreated as three extended blood-thorn tails attempted to skewer him where he stood.

"A Bloodborn; truly a mythical creature. But I want you to show me more, Tristan." He grinned while flexing his fingers, showing the sinisterly extended black claws on each fingertip.

"Just for clarification, grandma; I think we're over our heads here."

Satomi would have laughed had Tristan said this anytime else when she wasn't worrying about the life of her family.

"You can tell, right? I'm not as strong as him, so we have to be careful how we approach him." She warned to which Tristan nodded grimly. He couldn't deny her words because Deucalion's presence was just that overwhelming.

The fight here was chaotic, Tristan understood as his senses swept over the clearing, with their biggest threat being Deucalion and the twin Alphas.

He and Satomi flanked Deucalion, trying to hold him back and not allow him destabilize the stalemate the others were in, but even that was a hard task for them, as Tristan quickly understood.

He ducked under Deucalion's claw strike while the tail behind him turned into a sickle and tried slicing Deucalion's arm off but the older Alpha simply retreated but not before grabbing the thick part of his tail and using it to launch himself towards Tristan with a knee to the gut which he blocked by congealing his blood around where Deucalion attacked.

He used the blood to quickly bind Deucalion's knee to his gut but the man just cut through it with his claws just in one to block another of Satomi's attack.

Unlike other werewolves, like Derek and Deucalion, Satomi's way of fighting was just like her character and mentality, disciplined to its core in the form of martial arts .

She didn't just go for the quickest and most deadliest attack she could dole out, but knew when and how to leverage it well. Perhaps the reason she was respected wasn't only because she was an old Alpha, or the strongest, but because she knew how to quickly kill someone if she was invested to do it.

It was a weird(mostly preconceived) notion for a werewolf to use martial arts in fights but in the case of Satomi, all that could be seen was how she brought it to harmony when she fought.

The situation wasn't also as good on Malia's side when she and Brett came face to face with Aiden.

"Come on, don't tell me you're still mad since that day." Though he said that, the way he smiled calmly at the both of them showed just how little he cared for how she felt, and he shouldn't.

"Just step aside and let us get to Jennifer. We don't want anything to do with you." He tried reasoning with Malia but they both snorted.

"That's a lie pal, and I don't have to be a werewolf to tell even that." Brett said and flicked out his claws, drawing an amused smile from Aiden.

Matching Brett, Aiden flicked out his claws and so did Malia.

"So how do we do this? You want to take turns or are you both going to come at me at the same time?" He taunted.

Brett looked at Malia and nodded his head. "Now I see why you hate his guts. And speaking of guts, how about we try to take his out?"

"Exactly my kind of idea!" Malia shouted excitedly and lunged at Aiden, all too eager to spill the Alpha's blood than she had any right to be. He was an Alpha after all.

"I guess you never learn. But don't think I'll be as passive as the last time." Aiden snarled with eyes red and fangs all jutted out.

He caught Malia's hand and used it to throw her over his shoulders, back first to the ground.

"Motherfucker." Brett cursed with a grimace as Aiden punched his punch away. The teen Alpha tried grabbing his neck but he grabbed his hand in turn, but that turned out to be a wrong move as Aiden simply grabbed his outstretching hand and socked him across the face.

"Hell! You fucking bitch!" He snarled as he felt Malia's claws going through the back of his leg which made him stumble for Brett to return the punch in full favor, angering him even more.

The two of them tried pressing him harder but the fact that he was an Alpha couldn't be changed. If all it took was two betas to beat an Alpha, a fully realized one like him, then there wouldn't have been anything special to being an Alpha in the first place.

They both cried out in pain as his black claws went through their flesh with ease.

In hindsight, Malia should've known since the beginning that fighting him would be this hurtful, but in the marvelous way her brain worked she didn't factor in the pain she'd feel before she could get to killing him.

"You have to be really stupid to think this would turn out different just because you got some help." He said, looking at both of them. "We didn't plan on killing you guys last time and because of that we lost Ennis and Kali. We won't do that anymore."

They took a quick look around and noticed that the others weren't particularly doing better than them. In fact, Lori, Jiang and Allison looked as if they were doing worse against Ethan than Malia and Brett were doing against Aiden.

Lori and Jiang looked like they were finally understanding what it meant, or rather felt like, to be a beta fighting an Alpha. The only one keeping them afloat was Allison, the same person Ethan was keeping an eye on, knowing fully well she was the reason why Kali died.

As for Derek, Chris and Jennifer, it was more or a stare-off going down than an actual fight with Jennifer trying to convince Derek of her reasoning while having a gun pointed to her brain dome.
