Chapter 102 - CHAPTER 99

"Is Lydia okay?" Asked a concerned Stiles as he stood on the other side of Lydia's bed.

"Her mom said she woke up yesterday and managed to eat something before sleeping again. She's doing a lot better than she was yesterday so she might be fine in a few days." Allison answered truthfully after thinking for a second.

She had every right to be cautious of werewolves because unlike Tristan and Malia who she knew before she became a Hunter and forced herself to trust despite everything, the Hunter part of her made wary of everyone else – the two in front of her included.

"A doctor came to check up on her yesterday and said she was just energy deficient which is why she falls asleep shortly after waking up."

Stiles nodded as relief washed over him as he heard that she was going to be alright. Unlike the guarded presence both Allison and Scott had, Stiles only had his focus on Lydia.

"What is she? She's not a werewolf, that's for sure." He asked after getting his bearings together and finally joined the conversation.

"She's not. She's a banshee, woo~" Malia said with amusement, waving her fingers as if imitating a ghost.

"Malia!" Allison called out to her, not comfortable with the way Malia seemed nonchalant but the Miss just gave her a patented shrug.

"Them knowing that doesn't change anything. What are they going to do with it?"

Allison wanted to say that they might want to exploit a defenseless and ignorant Lydia but chose not to say it, not after seeing how concerned Stiles was. Any who paid the slightest attention to him in school could plainly see how hard he crushed on Lydia.

Scott hastily made their intentions clear after Malia said that, saying how worried they were about her.

"Don't also forget stopping them in case they want to kill her." Stiles added.

The room fell silent again at Stiles utterance while Scott looked at him incredulously, wondering whose side his best friend was on.

"Why would I want to kill my friend? Rather than me, I would say Scott is more likely to kill her based on what he is. No offense, Malia." Allison shot back.

"None taken."

Stiles bit back not a second later while pointing at Malia. "Scott hasn't killed anyone, unlike your best friend over there."

While Allison was stomped for words, the guilty party couldn't care less about the truthful accusation. "Good, now can we get over this? Ginger here can predict when someone is about to die and the only person we know who is on the rooster is Allison's dear old grandpa. Let's work in that direction."

That brought Allison back to focus while also taking Stiles and Scott by surprise, with the former curiously asking, "How does he die?"

Allison looked over at Malia and got a nod from her prompting her to bring out the sheet depicting her grandfather's death.

"I don't know about you guys, but it looks as if he had his throat ripped out."

"Because that's exactly what it is."

"In other words, a werewolf did it?"

"That's the insinuation." She started and continued with a frown. "But that alone tells us next to nothing. It could be done by any werewolf like Scott here or either from Derek and his pack members."

Scott and Stiles looked at each other with their eyes having an entire dialogue in an instant, something the sole werecoyote in the room caught.

"It looks like you guys know something. Mind sharing it?"

"I've been looking for Derek and trying to reach him since yesterday but there's no response. He's not in any of his apartments either." Scott said.

Something like this easily caught Allison's attention, moreso when Malia said Tristan might probably be looking for him at the moment.

"Yeah, we saw him. He said he was looking for Derek but didn't tell us why." Scott said, proving Malia's assumptions true.

"Do you know anything about this, Allison?" Stiles asked, staring at the young Hunter who appeared confused by the question.

"Me?"

"Yes, you. The kanima is already dead meaning the only enemies Derek has is the Argent and there are the only ones strong enough to force him into hiding, or outright catch him." Stiles supplemented.

Realization hit Allison but no matter how she recalled, other than that awkward dinner where she was sure her dad had some heated words with her grandfather, nothing else of note came to mind.

"Is there a possibility that he might be caught but you are unaware of it?" This time it was Malia who asked to which Malia nodded.

She wasn't told a lot of things after all.

"Derek killed my aunt, why should I care about what happens to him?"

"Because unlike your aunt, Derek's is justified. He didn't burn down a whole house with your family trapped inside. Like it or not, your family created the impetus for this whole mess."

Stiles never for once thought that not only would he take Derek's side, but also defend him against a Hunter. Even Scott was surprised by Stiles' serious rebuttal but he didn't say anything and kept quiet.

If there was one thing that hurt Allison to this day, it was that accusation.

The truth of Kate's vile actions disillusioned her so much that she held doubt when it came to the Argents and the family code.

She swallowed whatever question she wanted to ask this time and turned to Malia. "Do you have anything to add?"

Malia shook her head.

"I'll see if I can find out where Derek and his pack are being held, if they are not already dead."

Just as Allison said that, the sound of clothes ruffling attracted their attention to Lydia who was stirring awake.

Lydia sat up from her sleeping position and saw four stunned faces staring back at her before her ears rang as two people screamed her name.

"Lydia!"

"Lydia, you are awake!"

Stiles awkwardly stopped himself from rushing to the still sleepy Lydia as Allison beat him to it.

"Lydia, it's me, Allison. Are you alright?"

Clarity finally came to Lydia's eyes as she understood where she was and remembered who the faces in front of her were.

Tears pooled out of her eyes and she pulled Allison into a tight hug, as tight as her weakened muscles could hold.

"The voices… I kept hearing voices… I heard their voices.. I heard Jackson's voice." She said between sobs while clinging onto Allison with everything she had.

"Lydia.."

"Please, please.. I'm not crazy, I heard the voices… Please believe me, there were voices calling my name. I'm not crazy!"

She completely broke down while begging someone to believe her words.

Her mind was tethering on the verge of completely breaking down because she could no longer distinguish between if they were real or not so she desperately sought out anyone that could convince her that she was telling the truth.

A severe trauma.

Seeing Lydia who she always pictured as strong and prideful, breaking down like this in tears and hearing her desperate pleas, Allison tightly hugged her back and comforted her with words Lydia definitely needed to hear at this moment.

"I believe you, Lydia. You are not going crazy, Lydia. There were voices before but now they are gone. Don't worry, you are okay now."

Lydia burst into another series of apology and pleading and Allison supported her all through the way until she finally cried her eyes out and fell asleep once again.

Her mother had burst into the room halfway through Lydia's cries and comforted her daughter along with Allison until she fell asleep.

"Thank you. I'm very grateful for your presence and supporting Lydia through all this." She thanked them at the door after they decided to go home after waiting for Lydia to wake up again.

Thankfully the girl woke up again and Allison and Malia helped feed her while her mother bathed.

"What is going to happen to her? Is there a way she can control this or will she be comatose everytime she sees a vision of someone dying?" Stiles was panicky and for good reasons too.

Unfortunately, he received no concrete answers from neither Malia nor Allison. They too were just as ignorant as he was in concern to Lydia.

He and Scott got inside his jeep and he drove off feeling downcast by the whole thing.

"Do you want me to give you a ride home?" Allison asked, to which Malia agreed, and so she drove off to Malia's which wasn't that far from Lydia's house.

"You guys sure took your time." They heard Tristan's voice from the kitchen as soon as they closed the front door.

They saw him making macaroni and cheese so they helped him while Malia recounted what happened at the Martins.

"Glad she woke up, honestly. I know Ms. Morrell would have been a pain if she hadn't." He said lightly as he took a sip from a cup filled with blood as they sat in the living room eating.

He made an offhand notice that Allison only showed slight discomfort before quickly getting used to it.

"Are you sure you can find out if your family has Derek behind bars without making them a little suspicious?"

"Maybe. Hopefully not, because it will be a lot worse for me if they find out." Allison said, not sounding that confident in her own words.

"Just don't push yourself too much because you want to try to prove something or be useful." Tristan's words stunned Allison for a moment before she gave one of her killer smiles that they knew her for.

"Thanks for worrying about me." She said sincerely.

"Of course I will. You are just as much trouble as you are worth." He said lightly as they ate which caused Allison's smile to stretch further.

"Damn, I don't think I've ever seen Tristan flirt with someone before. And she's blushing mad."

"Malia."
