Chapter 54 - CHAPTER 53 - IS THE GOD RACE STRONG?

Looking at the young boy who stared at him expectantly for answers, he felt guilty.

"Lucian..."

He paused, as he suddenly heard someone trying to wake Lucian up. Since Lucian was here, it was hard for him to hear what was going on around him. Unless he got a lot stronger and was able to control both sides. For now, he was too weak for that.

"Lucian, someone is waking you up. You need to go. You'll make them worried if you keep staying here..."

Realization hit Lucian, he nodded and then vanished from the dome.

Raphael heaved a sigh. He hadn't known what to say earlier.

In the room, Lucian opened his eyes to widen them.

"Arthur ??..."

"Are you ok, I've been trying to wake you up for more than twenty minutes. Is everything ok? You looked stiff..." Arthur asked furrowing his brows.

He had been a little worried when Lucian was not waking up. And in order not to alarm Liz and Anna. He had waited, convincing himself the boy was not a normal kid and hence would wake up.

"Am fine, I..."

"You don't have to say it if you don't want to..." Arthur said.

Lucian nodded satisfied with that. He wouldn't have been able to come up with a lie anyway.

"Here, I brought your best friends to keep you and Nate company while am gone. I didn't want you two to suffer so I added just a few iron nails to the ones already in it, they should be just as twice as heavy as they were..." Arthur said coolly.

Lucian's lips twitched. Did Arthur have a heart? No, he didn't think so. Nate was going to burst if he heard this.

"Arthur, we are ten-year-olds..." Lucian said, calmly trying to make a point

"I know, so I picked the iron nails that looked exactly your sizes..."

"..."

Lucian blinked speechlessly. Forget it

"Are you leaving today?" He asked instead.

"No, But am leaving your place now to get my horse ready... Take care of your mother and grandmother. The two of you must train every day, and you must keep practicing everything I've taught you. When I come back, I'll be testing both of you... Is that clear?"

Arthur ordered like the knight he was.

"Yes sir" Lucian responded accordingly.

"Get up. A man should not sleep this late..." Arthur said and got out of the room

Lucian sighed and got up, joining them in the parlor for breakfast.

In the middle of the road somewhere, Andrew's carriage rode fast past the trees.

"Your Highness, what are we to say to the king?" John asked Andrew looking worried.

The king's anger and agitation were one thing he did not want to face. He could only look at the one who is his son.

"What else?" Andrew asked indifferently.

"Your Highness, that we did not find the princess? But he's going get pissed, it looked like he believed that the princess was in that town..." John said

"Don't worry, he's probably going to know beforehand. And besides, there's nothing we can do. We didn't find Anna, nothing can change that. Unless he goes to find her by himself..." Andrew said and shrugged.

John looked speechless. The prince was so calm, even though he knew his Father might go berserk hearing this. He internally shrugged too. There was nothing he could do either.

In an abyss with a different world, demons, and magical beasts were moving to and fro. Others were contractual beasts, while others were just rogue ones skidding through the blissful city. Yes, blissful. The demons lived a carefree life and unlike the god realm, they didn't have so many rules. They believed in strength and power and rules were not something they could abide in so much. The kingdom was just a little more like that of the humans, except there was not a single old person among them. They each looked young with vigor, clad in different clothes. Others wore white throughout, others black and others wore purple accentuating the color of their eyes.

In a castle, much smaller than the one the meeting with the elders was held in, a young beautiful girl in purple clothing with red hair, was showing her swordsmanship skills. Her eyes were purple, so different from her red-colored hair. These two colors should not have matched, but they looked perfect on her.

Two demons sat at the side watching her in awe. Her skills were beautiful and her balance was on point. She held her sword lightly as if it was a part of her arm, and she wielded it with her clothes flapping making her look like a colorful little butterfly.

"Levia, are you going to train every day? You are going to exhaust yourself. You need to take a break, the human world isn't running away..." The young demon on the left said. He was by the name Josh and had been Levia's tutor since she was very little.

Levia stopped and panted.

"Father says, I need to train harder if I want to seek your second in command's consent. And from what I hear, he's very strong. Right Father?" Levia said, turning to Ivan who stood on the right side of Josh looking helpless. He asked her to train hard, not this hard. His daughter barely slept. She had been wielding her sword every day, if the sword had a mouth it would have complained.

"Levia, I did ask you to work hard not just on your swordsmanship alone. You need to learn about the humans too..." Ivan said trying to sound stern.

"I think I've read a lot about them in the books from the library. Their cute beings, just like us..." Levia said assertively.

"....."

"....."

"Levia, they don't have purple eyes like us. And they see us as evil beings. You must not by any chance tell them your true identity. Though, we are much more powerful than them, You might be the only one in their midst, which is disadvantageous..."

"Until we gather enough strength to overthrow the gods, we do not want unnecessary battles either from the humans or the other equally irrelevant races..." Ivan said educationally

"Father... Is the God race very strong?" Levia asked curiously.

"They are just so so..." Josh answered instead.

"....."

Levia was speechless. If they were just so-so, why did they have to work so hard?
