They sat there for a full hour before the first Dryad opened her eyes, giving Morne a disapproving stare that could've had a number of reasons behind it, but was most likely because of his refusal to lower his voice.

"How does End always find a way to hand off his work to us?" she asked bitterly, shifting into a more comfortable position on her chair. "He didn't even tell us you were coming."

"Is there anything we can help you with?" Essenla asked the Dryad. "I'm sure there's something you could use the help of a Mage or two with."

"A Mage…?" the Dryad trailed off. A flicker of recognition appeared in her eyes a second later. "Ah, yes. I had forgotten the Mother Tree deigned to give the two of you 'humans' Towers."

She pursed her lips and adopted a thoughtful expression, going through a mental list of the various tasks around the village before settling on one.
