Chapter 118 - Rain of Leaves

The goblins and elves alike paused in their fights to the death, looking up.

When they saw that the great tree was the source of the commotion, their eyes widened, the elves with hope and the goblins with shock.

Leaves started to fall down. They were not the yellows and browns of autumn, but rather the pure green of spring, and as they drifted down, they caught the sunlight streaming down and glowed with a soft, gold light, giving them a holy appearance that left one awestruck.

No one moved, even though the first leaf didn't complete its fall until two minutes later, so enamored were they with the scene.

The first of the leaves made contact with an elf man lying on the ground near the goblins. This elf had wounds so egregious that he had only seconds to live at most, and his every thought was consumed with pain.
