"Human magic is quite impressive, Grommett," Gram mused as he observed the elf undergoing various minor tasks to test its ability to move and follow orders. "It makes me wish I had one of these 'Towers,' yes."
"This doesn't creep you out?" Essenla asked the goblin. "He's created a meat puppet out of a once-living person."
Gram snorted. "She doesn't know what we've seen, Grommett. This is nothing."
Essenla hummed in dissatisfaction, remembering what Grensky and Gregen had done to the elf village they had taken this corpse from, along with the many tales she'd heard of goblins eating people.
He was right. Something like this shouldn't faze him. And it shouldn't faze her, either.
But it still felt wrong.
"Are you going to do this with the other elf we brought back, human?" Gram asked Morne.
"I can try," he replied. "But with the way we killed him, it might not work."
