Chapter 85 - An Understanding

Sensing one's life force was a novel experience.

He relied on his gut and the vague feelings and stimuli he received as he mentally poked and prodded at the source of his vitality, feeling the life force in his muscles and skin and slowly picking out the differences between the two.

The longer he observed, the better he became at differentiating the distinct "flavors" of the different types of life force. Within ten minutes, he could tell blood from bone and skin from muscle with just a prod.

He didn't know if this was impressive or not, but he doubted it was. Feeling these differences in his own life force felt as instinctual as a deer learning how to walk.
