"How annoying," sighed the Boknul in mock disappointment. "It seems that I'll have to bloody my hands today after all. You should've taken the easy way out, because now I'm going to make you suffer."

"Are all cursed beings so full of themselves?" mocked Geleb.

"Quiet, mongrel," said the Nasnami with a dismissive wave, unaware of the irony of his actions. "I'll get to you soon enough. First, I need to tear your friend here out of his textile fortress."

The Boknul crossed the remaining ten feet casually, but only a fool would think that he was being inattentive. The cold glint in his reptilian eyes, the tenseness in his exposed arms' muscles, his stony expression, and the way his slit pupils zeroed in on Morne hinted at his true thoughts.

When he saw the direction that they were coming from and the blood on their clothes, the Boknul knew immediately that they had killed her.
