"How long do you think this will take?" Essenla asked Morne, the two facing in opposite directions.
"Don't know," Morne replied. It couldn't be too long, he reasoned, as they hadn't brought any food.
Unlike elves, goblins couldn't live off of the sun. They were primarily carnivores, and had built a reputation as people eaters. These goblins might be more civilized, so maybe that wasn't true for them, but they still needed to eat something.
So, logically, they would be done before thirst or hunger started to gnaw at their stomachs, no more than ten hours and likely less than that.
The sun had only just risen over the horizon, so they would have plenty of daylight to spend on this excursion, but that also meant that they would be much more visible.
