Quynh had barely gotten in any study of the materials Zai handed her, since once Maya was pushed under her supervision, Quynh had been dragged around downtown looking for music stores.
Even before finding the devices, Maya managed to spend almost all her money on vinyl albums - most of which had only a single song! Quynh couldn't understand the girl, but she'd sighed and given up a significant portion of her allotment for the stringed instrument that had so-captured Maya's heart.
She told herself she was being a good auntie, and that Maya was still too cute when she begged with her big brown eyes.
