Zai held her forehead with her hand as she listened to the announcement on the radio.
Of all the frustrating things to come out of the Conference of Nations, the Edict on Present Wars was infuriating, but she tried not to let it show.
"Everything alright, Colonel?" Her aide, Captain Soma Bilal asked.
"The Conference just slapped a timeline on the whole war," Zai replied. "Aviye may not have signed, but ones that did are promising to gang up on anyone that's still fighting after the interstice is done... We need to be ready in case the Sendan try to pull something."
"I'm not sure I follow, Colonel. Kota's got its territory back. Aviye has more than held up its end of the bargain," Captain Bilal pointed out.
