The thought kept circulating through Zai's mind, making her giddy one moment and filling her with dread the next.
Zai hadn't thought it was possible for her to impregnate someone. The medicines she used to help her body develop its feminine traits were supposed to strip that particular ability away.
Yet she'd done it.
Zai was going to be a mother.
After the party they'd both been too tired from their respective journeys to do more than sleep. Then Amri had to go back to her new school. Being on leave, Zai decided to follow her.
Rui came along, not that she would have chosen otherwise. It would be good to train Rui in an environment that was made for it. Finn seemed excited about training with her and Vanya remained quiet, despite having an interpreter she could speak through.
