The setting for the day's battle was crowded hours before the fight was actually set to begin. Unlike the city-bridges of Storspann, there was only a single structure at the center of this relatively small bridge, a massive courthouse whose central clock tower was frozen with both hands at the bottom of the mechanism.
Along the front of the building was a sandbag wall that rose to two stories in height and possibly a half-kilometer in length. A similar setup had been placed on the opposite length of the bridge, and the profusion of cameras and press members with a plethora of international flags and colors was enough to give Zai pause. Before, she'd felt the duel was a formality. She would keep as many of her secrets as possible while beating the Third Lightning. Now she felt she had to win.
