"Hide her! Hide!" Maya whispered as she heard footsteps at the door.
Rui instantly raised the sheets on her bed, covering up the precious subject of their fun as some gentle taps sounded at the entrance to their room.
"Girls, it's me," Amri said. "Are you ready for meditation?"
"Just a minute!" Rui called back, grabbing one of the bath robes that came with the room and covering up her pajamas.
Maya looked at her and mouthed "What do we do?"
Shrugging and tilting her head, Rui pointed at the bulge in the sheet and Maya ran over to take charge, sitting in front of it as Rui ran to open the door a crack.
"Is everything okay?" Amri asked. Maya recognized the tone Amri used when she was suspicious, but Rui was new, so Maya didn't know if her new big sister was smart enough for Amri.
