As midnight came and went, Zai leaped across the rooftops of Escator.
Thanks to Amri, she had a search area in the southeastern quarter of the city.
It was an area of large houses that were close to the river. Not large enough to be mansions, but certainly owned by a more affluent demographic.
Zai was going alone for this one.
Part of the reason was the fact there was no way she'd be approved for an operation in time, and she wanted to catch the Spider agent as soon as possible. The other part was that, as far as Amri could tell, the Spider's agents were at least about as powerful as Zai was prior to her first encounter with the Second Lightning. Had she deployed her battalion, the risk of casualties would be far greater.
