Lutis, Rebellion-Held Aviye
Xu
Xu's eyes widened at Shenmi's offer.
She had expected something like this from the direction of the conversation, but she hadn't expected it to be offered so freely. The surprise went a long way toward clearing her mind of the apathy that had weighed it down when the old woman had stopped her from calling the guards.
What she asked of them though...
"How do you plan on enforcing this?" Xu asked.
Shenmi looked at her squarely. "With a soul-binding oath, of course. I will take a bit of your souls and you will each receive a bit of mine in return. That way, even if you wind up on the moon, I will have some sense of how to locate you for a visit."
Internally, Xu was incredulous. She had some trouble believing the "soul" part of the arts she trained in, and Amri's supposition-filled descriptions of mostly-remembered texts had done nothing to alleviate her skepticism.
