"Weapons?" Amri protested. "I think you misunderstand, General." She didn't have to look at Captain Zai's face to feel the incredulity in her mind like a jab. "Risers are not weapons just because we've stepped on the path and I am not going to go out and kill people even though I do believe in the Revolution thanks to Captain Zai."
Amri felt amusement wash over General Suleika's mind, completely at odds with the look on her face, which was making Zai do some very fast thinking. The tense moment lasted right up to the second General Suleika gave Amri a salute before turning that hand into an open offer of greeting. "You have fire, Doctor. I am glad you do not let the fact we are on the same side blind you to your morals. Makes me proud to see."
The relief coming off Zai's mind was distracting, not least because it was mirrored by most of the crowd behind the General. "Thank you, General..."
