Historical Characters

Mea the Iconoclast - She/Her - Founder of the Meaist Philosophy of Governance. She stressed communal ownership of productive property, equality, and democracy. She founded a republic in Aviye that lasted for centuries until the combined might of the Hegemon Nations was wielded to destroy it, resulting in a century of direct occupation. Her teachings inspired the Sunrise Sword rebellion, which saw the unification of several disparate rebel groups, when the Hegemony installed a puppet monarchy in Aviye.

Terms

Apotheosis - The moment of transition in which a being goes from merely flesh to an embodiment of their soul, entering the status of Ascendant.

Ascendant - One who has attained great power in some way.

Cultivator/Riser - One who has stepped onto the path that leads to Apotheosis. There are many ways to become one, but meditation and training is the steepest and most direct path.

Z'gach (zuh-gash) - Derogatory for a traitor/collaborator.
