Nurezhin, The Kingdom of Aviye
Yuu
Yuu flinched as the sound of gunfire rattled and popped nearby.
He felt so exhausted.
"Kivi... Kivi wake up..." His voice came out hoarse.
They were sitting back-to-back, only the bars between them. It was the best position for them to both touch the knife while keeping it hidden, wedged by both their shoulder blades so they could keep their hands in the open should the guards check on them.
She said she'd only be asleep for a moment, but she didn't stir. He couldn't even feel if she was breathing.
Remembering one of them needed to be in contact with the knife, he gingerly slipped one of his hands behind his back until he had the knife by the blade, carefully handling it until he could crawl his fingers up to the handle.
Once he had that secure, he slipped it down, careful to keep it hidden by his leg as he turned.
