Aoife regarded her brother as Mama Scath spoke to him. The exchange of greetings should have normally gone with a toast, but her guests had gone drinkless, and so they simply sat. Aoife was next to Finn on a couch, and Rui was off to one side on a chair, with Mama Scath taking a chair of her own across from the siblings.
Even through the slight buzz of her own intoxication, she felt a nervous tension up her spine as Scathach spoke.
"Aoife tells me you still remember your home, young one. I must say I'm not quite seeing it," the old matriarch said with a level tone. "After all, you're in the tournament on Aviye's side."
