For the first night in the gym, Rui didn't sleep a wink.
She jumped out of the hole, eventually, but only when her body demanded she find something to drink.
Each training room came with a water fountain and a single-person bathroom, and Rui spent what felt like five minutes just drinking her fill from the little spout, before her body identified another need she'd ignored.
Once she was done in the bathroom, Rui found that while she'd been incapacitated, someone, most likely Quynh, had added a futon to the room.
That probably wasn't the special item Quynh thought she needed, since every hour spent asleep was one she couldn't develop a new core or whatever.
Looking at the clock, she'd already lost a day just drifting out of her own mind, fighting off the memory of the horror that lay in her own head.
How had Quynh even come up with such a nightmare technique?
